Time to Clean up

Jamie swiftly put together a light breakfast and once eaten, cleaned his dirty dish. Once done cleaning up, he began to realize just how disorganized everything was. There were old newspapers all over the table, the couch cushions were in disarray, there was a blanket bunched up on the floor in front of the couch and there was dust everywhere.

“When was the last time Rob cleaned up around here?” he asked no one in particular. It makes sense that the house was bound to get messy. With how much Rob works, there is no time for most anything else. With a bit of guilt, Jamie realized that he had not been helping at all. After everything that Rob had done for him, he would just sit around and watch the house get out of hand.

“Well,” he decided, “I better get cracking.” With that, he went about straightening up. He went to toss out the old papers but found that the trash was overflowing.

“First thing first,” he said and tied up the trash bag. Some of the garbage spilled out and ended up getting on Jamie's clothes. Once he dealt with the spill, he replaced the bag and took it out to the curb. On his way back in, he felt himself step in something then looked down at his shoe.

“Oh, gross. How did I not see that? This city really needs to deal with the stray dog problem.” Having just finished dealing with a garbage spill, he just put is shoes on the front step and planned to deal with them later.

Back in the kitchen, Jamie set up a new trash bag and tossed the newspapers. He then went to the couch and fixed the cushions. After that, he picked up the blanket, folded it and draped it over the back of the couch. The hard work really began when he went about dusting the house. He grabbed some pine scented cleaners and went about the house dusting and straightening up anything out of place as he went.
