Terri double crosses Mari.

Terri could see the look in Marigold's eyes. For all her newfound perversion... she was just an amateur. Terri could tell that if she brought her virginal friend along with her that Marigold would only weigh her down. Terri was advanced pervert; Marigold was an amateur.

"Hey Mari," she said, turning over the X-Ray specs in her hands. "Where'd you get these?" She made a very interesting look as she nodded along to Marigold's explanation about tech gnomes and convention booths that made no sense. If Terri had been paying attention, she might think that Marigold had been drunk. It wouldn't be the most surprising thing that Marigold had done today. But she wasn't paying attention, because Terri was busy formulating her secret, horrible plan to get these spectacles away from Marigold's control.

"Interesting," she said, a few seconds too late after Marigold had finished. "Hey, listen, Mari," she said.

"Yeah Terri?" Marigold said, her bright blue eyes full of fantasies about the future and a hope that Terri fully intended to betray as soon as she got the chance.

"I need to go test that these are safe," Terri said. "Can you sit tight in here? I'll be back in a few minutes once they get the A-OK. We wouldn't want you getting hurt, right?"

Marigold nodded sagely. That seemed to make sense to her. Terri was a terrible liar, but poor Marigold was far too naive to notice. "Oh, yeah, totally!" she said. "Thanks Terri. I never even would have thought of that!" She smiled bright as a lantern and handed the X-Ray specs over to her fellow cosplayer.

Of course you wouldn't have, Terri thought to herself. And that's why you'll be staying here until I make sure to get my money's worth out of these goggles. She sped out of the stall and the bathroom, and around the corner, pressing her back against the wall as she turned the goggles over in her hands. She couldn't wait to **** the hell out of this little technological marvel.
