"Yeah..." Sam says slowly, rubbing his forehead and finding blood on his fingers. He'd obviously cut his head on the way down. "What the heck was that?"

Lauren kneels beside him and shakes her head. "I'm sorry, we, we should have warned you. He's got quite the temper."

Sam staggers a little as he climbs to his feet, and Lauren quickly grabs his arm to steady him. "We'd better get you cleaned up." She says

Sam again looks towards the kitchen where Emma is busy with the washing up, not looking at anyone else around. A part of him wants to go and confront Emma and maybe check she's okay, but on the flip side he's still feeling pretty dazed.
