His head throbbing from it's impact with the floor, and his chest burning from the impact of Mike's fist Sam does as he's told, leaning back against the couch he'd been thrown to.
Mike turns again, glaring at his wife. "Get your fucking arse in that kitchen and tidy up from breakfast." he demanded, before turning around to look at the kids at the table. "I'm going to sit by the pool. Stay inside."
With that he pushed Emma out of the way, opened the door and strode outside.
Everyone remained silent for a few moments, but then Emma pulls herself to her feet and obediently walks to the kitchen.
Lauren likewise rises, darting across the room to kneel beside Sam. "Are you okay?"
