"That was no nightmare, Diana." You tell her with growing confidence. "The more I think about this the more sure I am."

"What are you talking about, Kyle?"

"Miss Vallon didn't have a nightmare." Diana raises her right eyebrow inquisitively, and for a split second you wonder if she knew how attractive that particular trait was before resuming your explanation. "She was dressed in dark jeans and a black blouse, she was either planning on going out or just getting back from somewhere."

"Or, as Miss Newton explained," Diana counters "Miss Vallon woke up disoriented from a frightening dream and started getting dressed without fully knowing what she was doing."

"Yes, that seemed reasonable when we were talking to Miss Newton," you shake your head slowly, "but did you notice what Miss Newton was wearing?"

"A t-shirt? Lots of girls sleep in oversized t-shirts, Kyle. I do sometimes." Diana's reminder of her sleepwear did not help you concentrate in the least, but you banish the mental image of her in black lace lingerie and finish your point.

"A dark blue t-shirt and black leggings." Both those girls were dressed for sneaking around after curfew." You see Diana nod thoughtfully and continue. "Two other things I noticed but didn't put together at the time. The sheets on both beds were pulled back, but the corners were still tightly tucked they looked as neat and tidy as a basic training dormitory. The other thing is I'm pretty sure I saw is Miss Newton's nightgown tucked under her pillow." You pause for a second or two letting Diana digest the information before allowing the thought that had been simmering like a hot chili on the back burner come out.

"If Miss Newton was lying about Chanel's nightmare and getting dressed when she woke, what else do you think she might have been lying about?" You meet Diana's thoughtful gaze steadily, waiting for her to reach her own conclusion about these observations.
