The third entry in the franchise, Inquisition was widely regarded to be a step in the right direction after the hugely contested Dragon Age 2, though that didn't save the game from being criticized for the amount of cut content and a laughably ineffectual villain after a certain point in the game.

In Inquisition, players take control of the eponymous Inquisitor, who is in the right place at the right time to derail involuntarily the villain's plan and acquire the power to seal the breaches into the Fade, the franchise's plane of existence where spirits and magic come from. Oh, and they are also considered to be the Herald of Andraste, since they walked through the Fade with their physical body, something believed to be impossible. Nothing much, really.

And no, this game was entirely expected to arrive, unlike another certain Inquisition...
