Evening times. What's on the menu?
A grandiose gesture
"Vanessa, I-"
She gently presses her finger to your lips, and shushes you
"Sshh... Don't worry about it, Asta. Unlike the night we met, this time I knew exactly why I kissed you. There is no decision for you to make here just yet. There's no pressure. Take your time to figure it out, and no matter what, we'll figure it out. I just really felt like kissing you right now."
She gives you a bright reassuring smile, and all your immediate doubts and worries dissolve.
Confusion is still prevalent in your mind though.
She seems into you, and that's great and all, but why are she being gentle about it? Granted, she is a gentle creature, but there seems to be something underneath her insistence that you think about it for a while. When she planted that kiss, she planted an idea of a future, a bright one too, but it almost seems like she wants to give you another option.
Back home, you knock on the main door before entering.
"Why did you knock?" Vanessa asks.
"I've just always wanted to try to knock on the door while somebody was inside. I haven't ever really done that." you lie. It was a shitty lie as well, but you hope it flies, and hopefully it will give Olivia time to hide whatever she may be doing.
Dinnertime rolls in, and Vee serves a nicely baked salmon.
You think Vanessa is slowly starting to get some purpose in her life. The absolute joy she receives when both Ollie and you compliment her cooking signals that time will change things for the better. She is battling her own insecurities, and finally it's starting to seem like she is winning. You don't want her to just be stuck as a housewife or something, but it does seem that the thing that makes her the happiest in the world is caring for you and Olivia.
You do assert to Vee that you would be happy to buy her some art supplies, and that you think it would be good for her to start paint again. She agrees. She nervously ask, if maybe, you could buy a soccer ball as well. You agree, because soccer balls aren't expensive, and she is feeling very ashamed in comparison to how little of a favour she asked of you. At least, she is starting to get comfortable around the fact that she can be cared for and looked after just as much as she does for you and Ollie.
What about Ollie though? Is she finding some purpose? Well, right now, she is finding gratification in her own sexual explorations, but that won't last forever. What happens after she has found herself? What will she do?
Maybe it is time. It still seems too early, but maybe it's best to get it out of the way.
"I have 72,688 dollars in a sub-account." you state a bit out of the blue.
"T-that's a lot." Ollie says baffled.
"It's money that I in some way or another have gotten due to my parents and my family name." you explain: "I have always kind of thought of that money as dirty. I hate seeing it in my bank account. The only way I can really see the dirty money become clean, is to use it on a worthwhile cause, and in the process, maybe I could become a bit more pure as well."
"Well, maybe we can find a charity." Vanessa suggests.
"That would be a worthwhile cause, but I was thinking of something else." you say as you look towards Olivia. Olivia looks focused, as if she is trying to read your face.
Vanessa gets the implication immediately.
"N-no way... I am not sure I can accept that you-" you interrupt Vee.
"Vanessa, with all due respect and adoration, I do think this is something Olivia should decide for herself. She is an adult, and while this could be a big step for her, she must take it herself."
Olivia eyes widen as she gets what is happening.
"A-are you talking about..."
"I want to use the money to send you to college."
Olivia.exe has stopped working. She just sits there dumbfounded, loosely holding her fork at the end with her thumb and index finger, the fork pointing down, swaying back and forth over her salmon like a medieval **** device for seafood.
Of all the things you've done for the sisters, this is by far the most grandiose, which is why you are worried you might have brought it up too soon.
"I d-don't know if I can go through with that." she stammer.
"You're turning into your sister." you counter teasingly.
"Oh, shut up!" Ollie and Vee yell in unison, kind of proving your point.
You get serious again, and in a soothing, calming voice explain your reasoning:
"Look, if you are worried about feeling indebted to me, then please don't. The money in question, while legally clean, has been acquired by gaming the legal system, using secret handshakes and snake oil sales tactics, to acquit guilty and legitimately horrible people. This demon has been sitting in my bank account for years now. I can't find a better use for this overprivileged corrupt money from people who got lucky in life and abused the system, than to help an innocent (at least legally speaking), intelligent, kind-hearted, unfortunate eighteen year old woman who had so much of her life unfairly robbed from her. In fact, you would do me a favour by letting me use the money to provide you a future outside of this apartment."
Olivia looks down at her fish. She starts welling up a bit.
"I know you say that I shouldn't feel indebted, but it's still a big sacrifice for you. If hell broke loose for you, you might need that money. I will feel like I would never ever really be able to pay you back."
Her concern is heartwarming, especially because it's a bit out of character for her.
"Now, I never had to worry about money, so bear that in mind, but I don't think the currency of life is money." you argue: "I think the real value comes from experiences, and right now you're selling yourself for cheap. The money I have spend on you, pales in comparison to the value you bring to my everyday life. Remember, you and Vanessa chose to stay and live with me, you chose to give me something invaluable, something you can't store in a bank account. You gave me hope and a purpose. I want to give you the same, and I'll pour in as much money as it takes to pay you that back."
Olivia's sniffles turns to wails. You and Vanessa both get up from your chairs and hug the poor girl. Her face dives in between your breasts as she bawls her eyes out. You don't think she is even thinking about that she is almost kind of motorboating you, but for now all you can do is to caress her lovely red-haired head.
It takes a minute for her to regain her composure. She sniffles and the looks at you with a weak smile.
"Why are you also so excessively sappy?"
There's the snark you've been missing.
"Did it work though?"
"Yeah."
She wipes the tears from her face, and then look back at you.
"Ollie," you start: "the deadline for signing up is the first of February, we still have three weeks time. You have time to think about it. If not there is always next year as well. I promise I won't spend a penny of the money until you've made your decision."
"And you're completely sure you're willing to spend your family's money on me?"
"Yeah, I'm pretty sure my parents would be furious if they knew I didn't smartly invest their money, but instead used it to give a former homeless girl four years of college paid in full..." you say as your mouth turns into a devious grin: "...which makes me want to do it even more."
You still have the girl in your arms, and Vanessa still has her arms stretched around you, and as you all look at each other with happy smiles, Vanessa speaks up softly:
"I don't want to pressure you Ollie, but I think you should do it."
"Really?" Ollie replies.
"Yeah."
If there is one thing that is stronger than Vanessa's insecurities, then it's her love for her sister.
"You don't have to decide now." you remind her: "We'll be here for you, whatever you decide to do. After all, living well is the best ****."
"Did you get that from a fortune cookie or a soap opera or something?" Olivia quips. You laugh.
"I mostly get them from song lyrics." you reply.
What a day. Surrealistic art and college tuitions. As you lay in bed that night, once again in the middle, each girl has conquered one of your arms, and has snuggled into your sides, forcing you to fall asleep on your back. You caress their backs, as you wonder how your life could have let you here in just ten short days. It's almost as if it's a higher calling, a second chance to find happiness... and maybe something more.
Everything's heating up (except the weather). Next morning?
Supplying a Winter Shelter
Two homeless sisters are for your help
In the cold winter time you find two sisters seeking shelter in your apartment complex. Helping them out turns out to be rewarding, fun, romantic, and a little bit emotional.
