Eight hours later Wilhelm and Cassie were standing at the from door of his childhood home, 407 Weilkeweg waiting for his mother to open the door. The taxi still waiting at the curb like the driver was asked to. Then the door opens a crack, a frail voice “Ja, was kann ich fűr dich tun?”

“Mutter es ist Wilhelm!”

“Wilhelm?” the door closed then opens completely “Wilhelm du bist es!” coming out her arms extended out, taking him into a hug, spotting Cassie standing a few steps back. “Und wer ist diese junge dame?”

“Mutter!, das ist Cassandra, sie Englisch!”

“Hello Cassandra, welcome to my home!” Releasing Wilhelm, extending her hand out to her. They shake hands, she turns back to Wilhelm “Well just don’t stand there Wilhelm take her bags inside

“Oh that’s not necessary I can…”

“Nonsense my dear that is a male duty, to carry the bags of we females!” Cassie finally understood what Wilhelm has been tell her these last few month. Keeping her mouth closed and letting mother Bonn lead her inside. “Can I get you something to drink while we wait for Wilhelm?”

Going out before I could reply, returning a few minutes later with a tray of cups, coffee, tea, milk and sugar “I know how you English like your tea!” Setting a tray down in front of me “Myself I like coffee and a nice Italian biscotti!” Handing me a cup of hot water and a package of loose leaf tea. Wilhelm joins in making himself a cup of tea.

“So what bring my son back to his mother with such a fine lady at his side?” I blush hearing that part of her question.

“Well mother I wanted you to be introduced to Cassandra, before I ask her to marry me!”

Both his mother and I are shocked hearing that. In the six months since he rescue me, we’ve never even talked about moving in together let alone getting married. He’s looking to his mother while I’m staring at him, wondering what else is he thinking!
