Chapter 32 by Snowflower Snowflower

Should she dare to cross the courtyard?

Yes, if there's no one there.

Vivianne moved to the courtyard's entrance and carefully scanned the area. There was that "mermaid's fountain" near her, now switched off and not spouting any water. In the middle part of the courtyard, two walnut trees were growing and providing shade; the wizard dummy stood farther on.

Three, two, one, go...! The unclothed girl gathered her courage and rushed forth.

She was almost halfway to the trees, when she heard car engine. Cursing the continuous streak of bad luck, she turned a leapt back to get behind the fountain. Its base was made of stone; the upper part consisted of translucent panels of dim glass. Vivianne knew that when the fountain is on, jets in its center shoot water high into the air, and when that happens, the dim glass with special proprieties becomes alive with colors - at least that was what the hotel manager had said.

Whatever was the case, the fountain was massive enough for Vivianne to hide behind - but probably just for a few moments.

The nude goth girl waited, playing nervously with her necklace. The car stopped under the trees, and some people got out. Vivianne recognized Miss Rossetti's voice. "I am extremely glad you like it," she was saying to some hotel guests. She has probably brought them by car from the nearby village. "Before I show you your rooms, you should take a look at the fountain. It's called the Mermaid's fountain, because we believe a mermaid was trapped in its pipes when it was built... and her ghost still haunts the fountain, wailing and crying over her cruel fate."

Vivianne frowned and bit her lip. Cruel fate? Yeah, that's pretty accurate!

Where should Vivianne conceal herself?
