A promotion

You're still standing under the running shower as you contemplate Heidi's offer.

"Maybe some other time. Actually, I was thinking about what The Organization can do for me."

"Oh?" Heidi sounds intrigued. "Go on."

"I was thinking about starting small. So maybe a promotion at the Tribune?"

"That's easy. The Organization owns the Tribune through various shell corporations and other benefactors. We can make you a senior reporter?"

"No, editor."

"Hmm... okay. Let me see what I need to do to make it happen. Talk to you later." With that, Heidi terminates the conversation and you hear the short beep this time.

Satisfied that you've at least made a small decision today, you step out of the shower and get dressed, before going to visit your family for dinner. It's been a while since you had seen them, and you enjoy the carefree evening. At the end of the night, when you're just getting back to the mansion, there's a beep in your ear and you hear Heidi's voice again.

"It's done. You're the editor. Just go in to work tomorrow. A company wide letter should be circulated shortly. Auf wiedersehen!" Heidi doesn't even wait for you to respond before she terminates the connection this time.
