"That's enough!" you bark, striding forward. "Just what is going on here!"

The three girls turn to you in surprise, Valerie looking momentarily guilty then staring at you with a nasty smile on her face.

"I was telling these sand-bitches about the dress code," she sneers. "They've been getting special treatment ever since they came here and it's about time that someone put them in their place."

"And you plan to do that by bullying? I think you're the one having difficulty with the Code of Conduct Miss Cummins, and in a more serious manner than the dress code."

She looks momentarily surprised that you know her name, but undaunted she returns to the attack. "The Dean said he was going to enforce the dress code. I was helping them out by giving them a warning! So he doesn't cut their rags off like he did Margot's tie! Tell them what he did to you Margot!" she points to the pretty dark haired girl who Dean Hawkfeather demonstrated his tie removal technique on. She shakes her head silently and holds up her hands, clearly indicating she has no part in this display except as an observer.

"I heard enough of what you were saying as I came up," you say. "And I know bullying when I see it. Don't try this nonsense about 'helping them out' on me, young lady."

Furious at Margot's lack of support, Valerie loses her temper.

"You can't do anything! You're just a filthy old drunk they pulled out of the gutter for some reason! You can't do anything to me! You can't do anything to any of us! Not you or that blonde redskin either! My Daddy will have you fired if you try! You can't lay a finger on me!

"Go tell us poor girls how rich your Daddy is again," a willowy blonde standing beside Margot says scornfully, prompting a laugh from many of the spectators. Valerie turns on her with an angry hiss.

"Shut up Tiana you snotty bitch! They can't do anything to me! If they try, if this drunk or that redskin try anything on me they'll be in jail! Just you watch!"

She spins, preparing to stalk away when a commanding voice barks, stilling the entire crowd.

"Miss Cummins, you will stop where you are!"

She freezes, her head snapping around, her eyes widening in dismay as she sees Dean Hawkfeather approaching, flanked by Headmistress Naylor and Honey Thibodeaux.
