Chapter 101 by Shandy Shandy

What does the Dean say?

He's a hard guy. And he brought an object lesson

Dean Hawkfeather points at a pretty dark-haired student seated near the front. "Do you mind helping me out?" he says, inviting her to the front of the room. With a triumphant grin she hops to her feet and saunters up. Her dark hair is in French braids and with she has a grace and athleticism to her movement. She smiles at the Dean as he gently turns her around so she is facing her peers.

"Before we get started on the policy changes I'd like to go over a few things about the uniform. What's your name?"

"Margot Childers, it's a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Dean Hawkfeather." The phrase rolls easily off her full lips.

"Why thank you, Miss Childers, it's a pleasure to be here." Turning to the group of students Kyle points to Margot. "Miss Childers here is wearing her school jacket, pink blouse and pleated skirt." He indicates her white knee-high socks and black pumps. "Notice as well that she is not wearing sneakers and her socks are pulled up above her calves." Margot does a mini bow and her friends applaud. "Really, I have only one issue with your appearance, Miss Childers." She sees his gaze rest on her tie and she covers it with a neatly manicured hand. "That's right Miss Childers, your tie. Please remove it and give it to me." Margot shakes her head and steps away.

"You don't know what I had to do to get this tie Mr. Hawkfeather." A round of laughter rolls through the library, but the Dean ignores the noise and reminds her that she is out of uniform and must remove the tie. She doesn't budge in her defiant air and with a nod he gestures for her to return to her seat. She smiles triumphantly and turns her back on him.

Kyle moves so quickly you barely see him. His hands flash out grabbing the back of her tie, and slices through it with a pair of scissors. There is a collective gasp of surprise when he steps back holding Margot's tie in his hand.

"Ladies," he raises his voice slightly, "If you are out of uniform, I will ask you once to fix the issue. If I'm in a good mood, I'll ask you twice. I will not ever ask you a third time. Now, if you are wearing a non-uniform article of clothing, I'd advise you to remove it now." Handing the ruined tie back to Margot he sends the stunned girl back to her seat.

"I believe in following the rules as they are written." The library is as absolutely quiet. "Before you leave today you will receive a copy of the consequences of various infractions as set out by the Academy's Code of Conduct. I suggest you pay attention to the rules."

The Dean gestures to the three cheerleaders who were drunk at practise, calling on them to come forward. You see that their eyes are reddened as though they've been crying, and you have little doubt that their pretty asses have felt the sting of a paddle. As one of them stands she quickly pulls a tie from her neck and drops in on the chair behind her before joining her friends to stand shamefaced in a line beside the Dean.

The girls look at each other, as though silently deciding who should speak. After a few moment Rina nods and steps forward slightly.

"Me and Bethany and Brianna did something stupid. We were drinking and we went to cheer practise...and kinda made fools of ourselves."

"And disrupted practise," Brianna adds.

"Right," the Rina says, taking a deep breath before continuing. "And, well we had to see Dean Hawkfeather this morning, and um...well he...he..."

"He enforced the penalty for being drunk," Brianna finishes. "Exactly like it says in the Code of Conduct." Bethany's cheeks are flaming with embarrassment.

There is a murmur in the room as the other students whisper to each other. You hear some mutters from teachers as well. Beside you Honey and Donna give little grunts of agreement, while Miss Swanson looks like she's about to explode. The three girls look at each other, then at the Dean as if seeking his approval.

"Dean Hawkfeather means everything he says," Brianna says, rubbing her ass with one hand and looking thoroughly miserable.

"Thank you ladies, you may take your seats," the Dean says gesturing to their empty chairs, his eyes surveying the crowd. "I trust this will make it clear what the disciplinary policies of the Pink Rose are. I advise you to familiarise yourselves with the Code of Conduct and the schedule of penalties listed in it," he says sternly, before turning to the headmistress with a nod and taking his seat.

The headmistress rises with an implacable expression on her face. "Ladies, you have heard the policy. Copies of the Code of Conduct are here and you can pick one up on your way out. To emphasise Dean Hawkfeather's statements, familiarise yourself with the rules, and govern yourselves accordingly." As she looks around the room you see many students drop their eyes, unwilling or unable to meet her gaze.

After several moments of letting the silence build she clears her throat and softens her tone as she starts to talk about upcoming events. She mentions the social with Hamilton school, the charity auction, and an open house, among other things, and then touches on some administrative details. The mood in the room lightens a bit, but most students still look slightly stunned at what they have seen.

They slowly relax as she speaks, and there is some giggling at the mention of the auction and the social. You can tell that Dean Hawkfeather's message has not been forgotten, however, as at one point or another the eyes of every girl in the room look at him. Their expressions range from fear to dismay to excitement to speculation.

You wonder if the Dean is fully prepared for the reaction to his words and actions as the meeting ends.

What now?
