Chapter 36 by keron keron

Who is it?

Marisa Miller

It's Marisa Miller from many covers of Sports Illustrated magazine, and definitely one of your fantasy women. You had suspected that she looked really good on magazine covers due to some photoshopping, but looking at the blonde bombshell in person, you realize that it's all real. She looks confused when she sees you.

"Who's this guy?" Marisa asks the director as she approaches and points at you casually.

"He's the new lead. John Colins. You might know him as The Ringer, the superhero?" the director says.

"OHHH," Marisa says as she recognizes your alternate name. "This guy is The Ringer? From what I've read online, he's more of a supervillain than superhero. And since when is he an actor? I'm not doing this. I'm not going to be in a movie with him," Marisa says with disgust and as if you weren't standing right in front of her.

"Well, this is who the studio has decided to cast and actresses don't get to make the call," the director explains.

"Hi Marisa, I'm a huge fan. I'm not sure what you've read, but I'm a **** for good and I'm sure we can work togeth-"

"Oh, shut it. I'm going to talk to my agent and then we'll see," Marisa rudely cuts you off and then storms away with the director chasing after her. You're rooted to the ground as you're stunned and disappointed at your first meeting with Marisa, and this is the first time in a while you've ever gotten such a bad reception in person. You decide to go for a walk and clear your head, contemplating what to do. In the end, you narrow your options down to using mind control on Marisa, or giving the executives and the director an ultimatum and demanding that they find another actress, although it might be tough on such short notice.

When you return about 45 minutes later, the director is happy to see you as he continues to organize the shoot.

"John! Hey, we were just looking for you. Sorry about the delay, we're almost ready to resume shooting and getting into the scene with the bad guy's girlfriend."

"Oh, okay... and Marisa is good with it? She seemed pretty adamant about not shooting with me."

"She'll get over it, I think. She called her agent, who called the studio executives, and then got their lawyers on the phone with her. Long story short, they reminded her of the contract she signed, which can only be terminated by the studio, and the massive legal and financial penalties the studio can bring against her if she refuses to shoot the movie. So, let's see how it goes, otherwise, I'll make the call and see if we can bring in someone else for the role. What do you say?"

You're surprised that they had handled the situation without your intervention and you shrug, open to seeing how it will play out. "Sure. I think she fits the role pretty well, but if we have to cut her loose, let's do it. Where is she anyway?" you ask as you look around for Marisa.

"She's getting into her costume and then we're going to film her riding up to the bar on a bike."

"Wasn't she in costume before?"

The director chuckles and doesn't say a word, as one of his assistants comes to tell him that they're ready to resume shooting and he tells you to get in place. You do so and get back to the bar set, before you hear the loud roar of a motorcycle engine.

Then, you see Marisa riding in on the black vehicle. You understand then what the director said about a getting into costume. It turns out the tiny tank top and daisy dukes were her normal attire, while she's now dressed completely like a bad ass biker chick in black jeans, black leather jacket, black knee high boots, black gloves with the fingers cut out, and a tiny black strip of cloth across her chest that just covers her breasts and shows off her toned abs and figure. The cameras are rolling as Marisa dismounts the hog and steps into the bar, then goes to the pool table. You 2 follow the script until your character approaches hers. Marisa holds a pool cue and walks around the table opposite you.

"Tell you what. If you can beat me in a game of pool, I'll tell you where he is. Otherwise, you'll have to leave. Deal?"

"Deal," you respond. Your character's a tough guy of few words.

Marisa proceeds to rack the balls and she goes first. She proceeds to pocket 2 balls on the break, before continuing to play. She's actually pretty good at pool and she goes on to pocket all her balls and you and your character don't even get to use the cue in your hand. When she sinks the black ball, Marisa looks up at you and smirks.

"Leave," she says, completely off script, and the director yells 'cut!'

He's furious and he confronts her, screaming obscenities into her face until have you have to pull him away from her. "What the fuck are you doing?!? Do you understand the studio can sue you for millions??? Millions!!!"

"Relax, I was just fooling around. This guy deserves to be put in his place," Marisa says though it quickly dawns on her what a big mistake she had made. The mention of the immense amount of money she could face losing has her panicked and she even looks to you for help. The director also turns to you, clearly frustrated.

"It's your call. If you say she's done, she's done. We'll sue her and ruin her acting career and find some other actress," he says.

Marisa also apologizes directly to you. "Look, I'm sorry. Really, please, I need this. I can't change how I feel about you, but I'll do better acting like I don't hate your guts, okay? I just... I can't afford a lawsuit and I need this role. Come on, we can work this out, right?" You rub your chin, pretending to think about her apology. You let her wait anxiously and only speak up after a while has gone by.

"Okay, we can keep shooting with Marisa, but with one condition."

"What?" Marisa and the director say at the same time.

"We improvise. She's clearly finding it hard to follow the script and be nice to me, so we'll just wing it and play out the scene and see how it goes. Just keep the cameras rolling, no matter what."

"No matter what?!?" Marisa says, but you don't dignify her outburst with a response. The director looks to her and she reluctantly nods.

"Great, places everyone!" the director announces, and they reset to the part where Marisa gets off the motorcycle and enters the bar. You grin to yourself as you get ready.

"Annnnnd ACTION!"
