Despite Naruto's **** vulnerability to her technique, Temari knew that she couldn't just instantly overwrite his mind. A mental attack of that magnitude would almost surely trigger the beast, and she was far too close to the blast zone to even consider the attempt.

But, as long as both of their teams made it to the final round of the exam, then she would have a month to work on him. She could help him out of this abusive village that he was trapped in, and he could help her save her home from bankruptcy and corruption.

She had seen what the hatred had done to her brother, she wouldn't let it break Naruto as well.

"Okay kid, remember the sound of my voice. When the test begins tomorrow, I'm going to talk to you. I want to be your friend. You want more friends right?"

"Yes..." Naruto said in such a timid voice that Temari had to hold back from pulling him into a hug.

"Good. Then when I start talking to you tomorrow, we can be friends. I'll be the best friend that you've ever had. I promise."
