The tunnel widens

Millie did not stop running until she reached a large widening in the tunnel. Here the ceiling was much higher than in the tunnel, and it was almost like being in a room. She stopped and listened, but no sounds were coming from behind her. Millie paused and looked around. At the end of the room the tunnel continued, but there were flickering lights here, like from a fire.

Suddenly the scraping sound came from the tunnel that Millie had just come out of, and without thinking much Millie ran into the tunnel in front of her. Here there were torches on the wall, explaining why it looked like a fire was burning. Millie looked at the ground as she ran but a sudden hissing sound made her look up. There, peering down at her from a hole in the ceiling was a human face, but one with cat like features. The nose was decidedly cat like and complete with whiskers, the eyes were large and very dark but the rest of the features were those of a human woman.

Millie let out a little scream of fear and the cat woman hissed at her then jumped down, landing on all fours but then standing up. The cat woman was not very tall as she stood next to Millie, maybe 5 feet as most. She has the body of a human, except for a long tail. Her body was smooth with medium sized and perky breasts and on her feet she was wearing boots that went all the way up her thighs but nothing else. The cat woman hissed again, but not at Millie, but down the tunnel where a shadow had appeared, standing still. The shadow took a step forward, and the cat woman hissed at it again, baring some large, scary looking fangs. Millie picked up a rock from the ground and stood next to the cat woman. The shadow let out a terrifying shriek at them, and then disappeared the way it had come from.

Millie let out a sigh of relief, looking at the cat woman and smiling. The cat woman seemed to smile back, as she turned and walked away. Her tail stroking against Millie's side as she passed her. Millie saw her walk away and was unsure whether she should follow her, but from the tunnel behind her more shrieking sounds were coming, so as the cat woman started to run Millie started to run behind her.
