A spy's report

You wake suddenly, almost instantly alert. Only the faintest glimmers of light come through your bedroom window providing scant illumination of your room. You see a huddled shape on the floor a few feet away from your bed, and sit up quickly, your hands clenched into fists.

"It's me," Valerie's voice says timidly. "You said to report at dawn and I didn't want to be late so I came early. I wanted to show how good I can be."

Your heart rate slows as you realise the girl poses no threat. You turn a night light on and see that she is wearing a black hoodie and black shorts. Her feet are bare and her shapely legs are tucked under her.

"What did you learn?"

"I waited for them to go out. Chanel and Rose. I followed them. It was so easy, they were talking and not looking and I kept in the shadows. They didn't see me," she says proudly.

"That's the point of being a spy," you say, shaking your head. "Not being seen is the first part of the job."

She looks momentarily abashed, then continues. "They went to this building on the upper campus. A little stone building. I don't know what it is. They went inside and were there for a long time. I watched. I sat in the shadows and watched."

"Are there windows in the building? Did you look in them?"

"No," she bows her head. "I was scared they'd see me. The building is so little. I just waited."

"How long were they in there for?"

"More than an hour. Almost two. I waited for them to come out, but before they did that Mr. Carter came out."

"Mr. Carter? The teacher?"

"Yeah, the one who everyone says is a drunk. He came out and walked away. And I kept waiting. Maybe twenty minutes later Chanel and Rose came out and went back to the dorms. I followed them inside. And then just after that there was a lot of screaming and people running all over the place. I don't know what happened. Ms. Naylor was there and that Dean Hawk, trying to get people calm and figure out what happened. I heard that it was Chanel who was screaming but I don't know why."

"Is that all? Are you sure it was Mr. Carter who came out of the building?"

"Yes. He stepped into the moonlight and I got a real good look at him. I'm sure it was him."

"Where did he go?"

"I don't know, he walked down the hill, like towards the main campus. You said you wanted to know about Chanel, so I stayed watching. I didn't think I should follow him."

"Very well."

"Was I a good spy?" she asks timidly. "I did what you told me. Are you pleased with me?"

"You did well enough," you tell her, and see her beam happily and wriggle like a puppy that has just been praised.

"Did I do well enough for a reward?" she murmurs, pulling her hoodie off to display her naked breasts, then rolling her shorts down her thighs, looking at you with anxious wanton eyes.
