Everything she knows

"That girl...Chanel...I told you...she's the one who saw Ronnie...or said she did..." Valerie babbles, trying to get the words out so quickly she's close to incoherent. You slap her face, sending her sprawling to the floor where she looks up at you in mortal terror.

"If you piss yourself again I will beat you until your tits and ass are black and blue," you hiss, leaning over her. She trembles, quivering in fear, nodding her head as tears stream from her eyes. "Now kneel and tell me what you know."

She scrambles back to her knees, her eyes terrified of another blow, but evidently regaining some control over herself.

"I heard her...talking to another girl...talking about a meeting tonight...a special meeting...she sounded worried...they both did..."

"What else?"

"Nothing...oh God don't hit me again! They saw me nearby and they stopped talking and walked away! Please don't hit me! That's all I heard...that's all!" She's nearly frantic with terror and you have no doubt she's telling you the truth.

"Who was the other girl?"

"Rose. Rose Newton. They're friends. They don't like me."

"Why don't they like you?"

"Their families have been rich, like forever. And my daddy just got rich when I was a little girl. And they think I'm stupid. I hate them, I hate them and their friends," she finishes with venom. "Are you going to hurt them? I hope you hurt them!"

She cowers when you raise your hand, holding her arms up to ward off the blow she expects, whimpering in fear.

"You're not here to ask questions, you little animal," you snarl. "Where was the meeting going to be?"

"At the Sanctum they said...but I don't know what that is..." she cowers, anticipating your wrath. "I don't! I never heard it before. Chanel said it the 'Sanctum at the appointed hour' but I don't know what that means."

"The how do you know it was after midnight?" you snarl, enjoying your power and the sight of the cringing girl.

"Because Rose said they should leave after midnight when everyone was sleeping, and to get there on time. That's all I know! That's all! I'm telling you everything!" Her face is red with her anxiety and fear, her tears wet on her cheeks. You have no doubt that she's telling the truth, so great is her fear of you.
