An enemy envoy

The following day, a sentry warned of an approaching group of natives. Your army, still weary from the other day, hastily readied itself to fight, hoping for another miracle. Forming up on the edge of town, you readied yourselves for battle. The men bristled at the sight of savages in the distance, but something caught your eye. Was that a glimmer? You don't remember the savages bringing metal to battle, so what could that be. As the party drew closer, you saw that it was much to small to be a war party. Increasingly, you were able to make out the details. It was a group of both men and women, carrying what appeared to be a variety of goods. Your interpreter comes to the front of the group. "You may relax everyone! It is as I suspected. The custom here is that those who lose in battle must pay tribute to the victor. They come bearing gifts!" The mood of the army improves dramatically. Their exhausted alertness turns into eager greed. As the natives draw closer, you can make out animals (both alive and skinned), great plumes of rare birds, rare stones, and is that? Yes, it's gold! Beautiful gold!

Aguilar greets the native envoys in their tongue, talking things over. He exchanges the necessary formalities, then returns to the army. "Along with these good, they also offer the twenty young women they have brought here, not a rare thing in these parts. Senor, as leader you have first pick of the goods" he tells Cortes. Cortes rides with his horsemen over to the collection of people and goods. He selects some of the goods, and chooses out the most beautiful of the girls, a young woman of notable grace and maturity. He then assembles his officers together. "An excellent performance yesterday men. You all richly deserve your rewards, especially you Delgado. Pick a girl for yourselves, just no fighting" he says with a knowing smile and rides off to camp with his goods in tow.

There are still 19 girls left to pick from, with a variety of different looks though they are all dressed in similar fashion. While Cortes' choice was indisputably the most beautiful, the remainder are plenty attractive by any standard, let alone that of a bunch of sex-deprived soldiers.
