Chapter 4 by checkcheck

Who gets them?

Nicholas Smith, Winslow Student

CRAPCRAPCRAP! I’m so damn late!

Nicholas "Nick" Smith cursed himself as he pedaled his bike to school. He just had to fall back asleep right after turning off his alarm and miss the bus. He barely had enough time to get dressed, frantically pulling on his jacket and putting in his new earrings as he ran out the door.

“Damn it! Stupid alarm, stupid school!”

Late! Late! Late! The word repeated in Nick's mind as he raced to class. Unfortunately, the bell rang while he was still down the hall from it, so as he swung open the door he cried out, "I'm sorry I'm late!"

"Oh, Nick?" His teacher noted, "Very well, take your seat and we can get started."

Nick blinked for a moment before quickly taking his seat, as his teacher began the lesson. Geez, last time I was a few seconds late the ass sent me to Blackwell's office. Weird. Shrugging it off as good fortune, Nick began taking notes. However, that wouldn't be the last strange incident of the day.

Nick barely paid attention to Mr. Gladly's lesson as he thought about the strange incidents and the discovery he'd made that day. After several incidents that were just shrugged off instead of getting him in trouble (Like accidentally walking into the girls locker room getting ready for gym and running into a teacher hard enough to send them sprawling) Nick learned that he had powers. Oddly enough though, after running into that bitch Sophia during gym and getting shoved into the bleachers only to run into her later and have her just ignore him had lead to him discovering that the source of his powers came from the earrings he had bought from a shady guy on the outskirts of the boardwalk.

So from what I can tell, everything I do is considered normal behavior. Geez, guess I'm never telling anyone about this. They'll call me the next fucking Nice Guy. Nick mused on his new abilities, before eyeing Gladly. I wonder...could I make someone else do think something odd is normal?

After a few tries, Nick learned that with the right phrasing, he could, as he laughed at his teachers new "uniform." Gladly's tie was around his head like a bandana, his shirt was on backwards, and his jeans were rolled up to his knees.

What to do now...?
