She asks him about Rachel.

Talia and I had a science project to work on together, so it was no difficult task to get some alone time with her. We had gone over to my house to start wrapping it up, and before I could bring up the subject, she asked me, "So...what's the deal with Rachel?"

I hadn't seen the question coming, and was a little confused as to why she'd been brought up, but I managed to play it off well. "Ummm... she's cool. A bit of an attitude, but you get used to it. We work on AV projects together. She's doing a lot of work on the movie we're making that Corrine is in."

I chuckled at the though of it and mentioned absentmindedly, "I actually considered asking her out a few times, but decided not to. Chickened out at the last minute."

"Ian, you know she's gay, right?"

My head snapped towards her, and I guess I looked so bewildered that Talia had to cover her face with her hands to suppress her giggling.

"Oh my God. Oh my God, you didn't know."

"You sure?" I asked.

"Yeah, she's as gay as they come. How did you not notice?"

I thought back on my time with Rachel, specifically when we were filming the movie. I remembered watching Corrine prancing around on the beach as she was being chased by our crappy werewolf, her bust bouncing as dramatically as her acting.

"That's real nice," Rachel had said beside me, almost breathless.

"What?"

"The footage!" She replied, all too-quickly. "The footage is great! Really, really great!"

I thought it was weird that she was suddenly blushing, but then I saw Corrine's boobs bouncing and I got distracted.

Coming out of my own thoughts, I turned to Talia and admitted, "I guess I never really paid attention."

Talia seemed to squirm in her seat, chewing her lower lip nervously. "Do you... do you think you could put in a good word for me?"

It took a second for me to realize what she was asking, but when it hit me, I felt like an idiot. She'd said that she wanted to experiment with girls, and since none of the others swung that way, she had to look elsewhere. Fortunately, she had an idiot friend who was so dumb and horny that he never realized that his AV friend Rachel was an all-out lesbian.

I wanted to know where we stood. I guess I got my answer...

I told her I would, and she hugged me so tightly I thought I would pop.

Two days later, they were an item. When I saw them together for the first time, they were walking through the hall holding hands tightly. Talia thanked me repeatedly for introducing them to each other, giving me a big hug and a peck on the cheek. Rachel, on the other hand, sarcastically told me, "Looks like having you around was useful after all."

I could see in Talia's eyes that she was happy, so I guess I felt good about that, but I couldnt help but feel like I was getting the shaft rather than giving it.

This was beginning to feel like my super-villain origin story...
