Last minute decision

For the next few hours before you're due to announce the next auction, you and Margot pace the den, tossing names at each other for inspiration. You suggest a couple of female world leaders but Margot shakes her head, saying it would incite global conflict and you agree. She names some obscure actresses and singers that you have to google. They're all pretty, but not particularly famous or likely to draw a high bid. You know that if you can't produce someone who can draw more and higher bids than Sofia Vergara and Kaley Cucuo, then your business would have peaked.

As midnight approaches, you're sitting on the couch with the laptop and staring at the screen. Everything else is already set up for the bidding to begin, and all you have to do is enter a name and click publish. Margot had gone to the restroom and only just returned as you see that there's one more minute to midnight. All of social media is buzzing with excitement about who you might announce and skepticism at the same time on whenever you'd be able to announce anyone at all.

"I guess you could put someone's name down first then try to find them. With your powers, it might be hard, but probably still doable, right?" Margot says. She's standing in front of you with her hands on her hips, all out of ideas.

You don't respond, staring at the clock on your screen as the numbers change from 11:59 to 00:00. Then, you just type in the first name that comes into your mind and click publish without thinking any more about it. You might have hesitated or changed your mind if you had waited a couple more seconds.

"There, I did it," you announce.

"Who did you put down?" Margot asks.

Sheepishly, you turn the laptop around to show her who you had just starting bidding on the website for. Margot's eyes go wide when she sees her own name.
