Chapter 12 by NemoHoes NemoHoes

The work day...

Flirting.

“We should keep it quiet when we get inside,” Jess said approaching the door to the bullpen, “Katherine will be a complete bitch about it.”

Frank nodded his agreement and followed her inside. The other co-workers in the office were exactly what one might expect, run down losers who had nowhere else to go. To name a few there was Mary in accounting that had worked at the company for 40 years, Jackson who was also in sales and had worked there for 20 years.

Frank and Jess would often discuss their love for the TV show ‘The Office’ because of how closely it represented some other workers at the company. But now Frank was realizing that it was also a good representation of him and Jess. It was almost like someone had directly copied their characters exactly and pasted them in a story.

The day went slowly. Frank constantly found himself clock watching and when he wasn’t doing that he was exchanging smirks and winks with Jess. Katherine, their boss, on a few occasions prowled over their shoulders to make sure they were working hard enough and not slacking.

Frank found that he was thinking about the last week, was he really an alien? He had no idea. The strange transformation of his body was definitely good evidence to suggest he had, but he couldn’t be sure. After drifting off, he was snapped back to reality by someone sitting down on his desk. Jess was staring at him intently, her legs crossed.

“Hey.” She whispered.

“Hey.” He said back smiling.

“Let’s fuck.” She hushed.

Frank coughed loudly in surprise, alerting the workers around his desk. She shot him a dirty look and hurried away back to her desk. He knew he had to talk with her, so he came up with a plan to appropriately approach her. Waiting a few minutes, he grabbed some papers and shuffled to Jess’ desk.

“Excuse me Miss Miller, are these the forms you were talking about?” Frank asked her.

Catching on quickly Jess answered, “Yes, thank you Franklin.” She announced loudly, “Barb, from the warehouse, told me about a quiet room where we can go on lunch break.” Jess added in a whisper.

“Okay, I’ll meet you then.” He muttered back, a smile spread across his lips.

The lunch break could not come soon enough for Frank and when the clock struck 1:15 he glanced around the room to see Jess slip out and head downstairs. **** to follow her, but eager to keep his actions subtle, Frank waddled out of the office and to the buildings staircase.

Lunch Break...
