Chapter 9

Who wins?
Not Fell #3. or #7. or...
This pack of Fell manifest as six-legged lizard-like things that display snake-like flexibility as they skitter and flow across the broken rocks like they were walking across a grassy lawn. The lead hunter pauses, testing the air with an ink-black tongue. There is a flicker of movement at its side and then a 'Crack!' behind it as Yang leaps into their midst. Her opening strike hits so hard that it throws the Fell clear out of the cave. The serpentine heads of the other Fell snap around to watch its sudden demise, and a series of threatening hisses and fanged snarls are met by Yang's cocksure smirk. She doesn't wait for their decision to attack or not and leaps right into the attack.
She slams a fist downward onto the midsection of one of the low-slung Fell, literally bouncing it up of the ground before soccer-kicking it into another that had begun to zig-zag its way toward her. She continues the spin and sweeps first a leg and then the rest of her body over the sudden lunge of another in a gymnastic tumble. A sudden clap of thunder announces her retaliation just as she gets a foot underneath herself. Without even looking at the Fell she'd just dodged, she points one gauntleted fist in its direction and lets loose with a violent shotgun blast that propels her forward like a blonde bombshell while leaving pieces of the shotgunned Fell all over the cave wall behind her.
The Fell that she's hurtling toward sees her coming and jinks to the side, out of the path of her headlong flight. It doesn't save it as she cocks her arm at a 90 degree angle before setting off another charge, caving in its head with a rocket-elbow. She recovers her balance with a shoulder-roll, a hand-stand-flip and a violent heel-drop into one of the legs of a struggling Fell. She fires off three more rapid-fire shotgun-punches and leaves nothing behind but sullenly-evaporating ribbons of flesh.
A dozen more follow an equally brutal and ignominious end, hardly doing more than making Yang take the time to kill them. Soon however, larger and more powerful Fell begin filtering into the fight from the steppes beyond. These are the soldiers to the earlier drones, powerful humanoid torsos atop serpentine tails and armed with vicious hooked swords. They are also tougher, as Yang discovers when one of her Ember Celica blasts is deflected by the bony white plates of armor that sprouts from their midnight-black flesh. She puts to rest any impressions of invulnerability that they might have made when she closes the distance between them in the blink of an eye. A sword-thrust is deflected violently upward with her metal gauntlets and she stomp-kicks it in the belly. It tries to bite her as it doubles over, but instead she rams her fist all the way down its throat before unleashing a blast that channels the divine energy empowering her as much as it does base physics. The resulting blast cores the thing from front to back, and takes out three more of its lessers on its way.

Is this all the Fell have to throw at you?

Ragnarok 2.0
Pick a god and build a new legend!
Author’s Intent This is a Kingdom Heart’s-esque story to support crossover character interaction. Authors will be free to put together a harem of supporters that suit their tastes. Obviously, the more characters you cram in, the less face time each will get and the more cumbersome the narrative will become. I personally don’t like stories that seek to tear down and female characters, so the intent of this story is to pick a few favorite characters and build them up over time. When you first meet a supporter, they will likely be low level and have some serious personal problems. Your job is to fix all that. Plot will always make for a better story, and generally contributes to interest in the thread as a whole.
