Shocked

You both stare at each other for what seems like an eternity. Instead of immediatley covering yourself up, you just continue to sit there, wondering which one of you will be the first to break the silence.

"Oh...hey dad, I didn't see you there." You finally manage to spit out.

"Obviously not." Your father says back. "Look, your mother just gave me a lecture about how I should be less rough on you and I just wanted to apologize, but I see that you're busy...so I'll just come back later."

You feel compelled to call out to him, if he could apologize, maybe you could explain what's going on to him.
