She threatens Gabriella’s life

Ai looks at Eve, clutching her broken arm on the ground, then looks at Chloe.

“I just want to have a happy ending with my sister.” Ai say sadly.

“And you can.” Chloe replies. “When I turn you into a Matriarch you can have the happy ending you desire.”

“When I get turned into a Matriarch, I won’t be myself anymore.” Ai replies. “I’ve seen Kirie. I refuse to believe my sister would ever follow a captain like that. Becoming a Matriarch changed her.”

“When she turned into a Matriarch, Kirie received power.” Chloe explains. “The power to do whatever she wanted. She no longer had to hold back. What you saw was the true Kirie. A version of herself she always kept hidden.”

Ai glares at Chloe, keeps the Lupick claw close to Gabriella’s throat and says, “I don’t believe you.”

The claw digs a little into Gabriella’s flesh and causes a trickle of blood to run down her neck. When Chloe sees this, combined with how Ai was speaking, the tone in her voice, she figures that this girl is becoming unstable.

Chloe holds out both her hands and says, “Calm down, Ai. You’re not thinking straight.”

“SHUT UP!” Ai suddenly yells. “You Matriarch are all the same! You keep talking about testing us, wanting to see our worth and all that crap! And then you have the gall to ‘reward’ us by turning us into you!? Fuck that shit! I get that you have goals, but I have one as well! You want to see this chick inside that special room? Fine, First me and my sister will go in and later she can go!”

“Ai … I got beaten … she won. Let her go.” Eve weakly tells her sister.

“You shut up too!” Ai yells at her older sibling. “You may have made a promise to this Matriarch, but I haven’t!”

Then Ai turns to Chloe and says, “Step away from my sister, NOW! And don’t you dare summon any tentacles or I swear I will kill this bitch!”

Ai then pushes the tip of the claw into Gabriella’s shoulder to make everyone realize she means it.

“Oh my god, she means it.” Gabriella says fearfully. “Do it, Chloe. Please, do as she says. She’s crazy. Please, listen to her. I don’t want to die.” The more she pleads with Chloe, the more obvious the panic in her voice becomes.

“Ok, fine. I’ll back off.” Chloe says. I’ll listen to you.”

Chloe slowly walks backwards, towards the lake with Scylla. It’s not like it’s impossible for her to find a replacement for Gabriella. She just really does not like seeing someone get murdered in front of her. Despite all the things she’s seen, that is still something she is very uncomfortable with. With Ai being in the state that she’s in, she might actually do it.

"...If you want to heal your sister...have her drink from the Chalice. If you want to keep her...make sure you eat the fruit...All of it." Chloe said.

Once Chloe has backed off far enough, Ai tells her sister to get up. Eve struggles up, holding her broken arm and slowly starts walking towards the gate. Ai walks over there too, holding Ai in front of her with the Lupick claw to the Latina’s throat. Once they are close enough to the gate, Ai pushes Gabriella away from it. Then she grabs her sister and jumps with her inside the light. As soon as they are inside, the gate closes.
