Introducing Class 78!

To be completely honest with you all, as I walked into Hope's Peak, I was expecting that I was gonna pass out and then wake up only to find that I'm trapped in the school. Likely, things like that only happen in video games, anime and the occasional manga.

From just entering the main hall I could tell this school was bright and full of life. A large amount of sunlight filled the main hall. Making the white floors glistening, making the hall even brighter.

If I remember correctly, there's an initiation in the gym at 8 am.

I look the watch on my left wrist, to see that it's currently 7:55 am.

Crap! I sent too much time monologuing outside the school! I don't even know where the damn gymnasium is!

After leaving my bags with the main office, I spent maybe 5 minutes running around the first floor of the school till I found what looks like the entrance to the gym. With great speed I shove the doors open and run into the gym. I see there are 17 chairs seated infront of a large stage with a podium on it. There's a tall man with black hair, wearing a black suit with a white dress shirt and a red tie, that is standing at the podium. All but one of the 17 chairs have a student sitting in them. Those previously mentioned students are all currently looking at one thing. Me.

My cheeks flush immediately as I gulp and laugh nervous.

"Haha, s-sorry about that", I say.

The man at the podium begins chuckling, but before he can say anything a boy with short spiky black hair and intense red eyes jumps up from his seat and sprints towards me.

"Do you realize what time it is?! It's 8:01! You were well aware that you were due in the gymnasium at 8:00 am sharp!", he yells as he gets closer to me, "Explain yourself!"

"I-I had trouble finding my way to the gym", I say with a nervous smile on my face.

Before he can continue yelling at me, the man at the podium speaks into the microphone, "Uh hey, Kiyotaka? How about we let him off with a warning this time?"

Kiyotaka turns to face the man and salutes him while saying, "Yes Sir!"

Kiyotaka quickly hurries back to his seat while I just remain standing, trying to process what just happened.

"Um excuse me? You're John right? How about you take that last seat next to Makoto?", the man says pointing to the empty seat next to a boy with brown hair.

"Oh yeah, sorry sir", I say as I quickly take a seat, trying to hide my embarrassment.

The kid next to me flashes me a bright smile, "Hey, I'm Makoto Naegi"

I smile back, "Name's John Doe! Nice to meet you"

"Well, now that everyone is here, we can finally begin. I am headmaster Kirigiri. Each of you have been chosen by this school because we believe you are the best of the best. Your abilities can provide the world with the hope it needs", Headmaster Kirigiri says.

I don't know how being the "Ultimate Boyfriend" is supposed to help the world, but whatever you say Mr Kirigiri.

A teacher that was standing next to the stage begins handing these tablet like devices and a key to everyone.

"You will now be obtaining your e-handbook and your dorm key. Your e-handbook will be essential for living your daily life here at Hope's Peak. They contain a map of the school as well as the school rules. The keys are for your dorm rooms, make sure you don't lose those. It's a pain to make new ones. Your dorms should be on the first floor of the dormitory. But I need to make it clear, during nighttime, which is 10 pm to 7:30 am, there should not be a girl in a boy's dorm or a boy in a girl's dorm. There are no security cameras in the dorms so I'm trusting you guys", Kirigiri says with a serious look on his face.

"If the rumors I heard about sound proof dorms are true, then you, sir, definitely screwed", I whisper just so Makoto can hear it.

He chuckles softly at my bad joke.

After we all received our handbooks and dorm keys, Headmaster Kirigiri told us to spend a few minutes to get to know each other before he left.

So I guess this is the part where I get introduced to the main cast, kinda like this virtual novel I'm always playing.

"Hey Makoto, you never told me what your talent was", I say to my new friend.

He scratches the back of his head and sighs, "To be completely honest, I don't have a real talent. I'm the Ultimate Lucky Student"

Oh yeah, every year the school holds a lottery and the winner gets to attend the school as the Ultimate Lucky Student.

"Hey, in my opinion, that's still a pretty useful talent. It's a lot better than mine. I'm the Ultimate Boyfriend", I sigh.

"What does that entail?", Makoto asks with a curious look on his face.

"For the sake of not embarrassing myself, I won't do into to much detail. But from just one conversation with a girl, she'll immediately fall for me. Though I'm not some man-slut constantly being girls home or anything like that! I usually turn most of them down when they immediately ask me out", I start explaining.

"Doesn't sound Ultimate Boyfriend worthy to me", Makoto says.

"Well I just treat my girlfriends right. All my previous ones would always talk about how great of a boyfriend I was", I shrug, "I don't see it either, but apparently Hope's Peak likes it"

"Well if Hope's Peak says you're the Ultimate Boyfriend then you must be", Makoto says with a smile on his face.

"Anyway, how about we go meet the rest of the class?", I suggest.

Makoto nods and the two of us begin making our introductions to the others.

We meet Mondo the Ultimate Gang Leader, Kiyotaka/Taka (his nickname) the Ultimate Moral Compass, Leon the Ultimate Baseball Player, Yasuhiro/Hiro (his nickname) the Ultimate Clairvoyant, Hifumi the Ultimate Fanfic Creator and Byakuya the Ultimate Douchebag, oh sorry, I meant Affluent Progeny.

We then started making our way towards the girls in our class. The letter I received from the school made it pretty clear they will be watching my interactions with the girls so I better do I good job. I just hope this doesn't turn out like it did at old school, where the all the girls got in a big fight over me. Just thinking about that event makes me shutter.
