Hitchhiker

Chapter 1 by lehart lehart

The sun was shining bright on the highway as I pulled over in my old red truck, waving to the young woman walking with her arms crossed. She turned towards me and my breath caught in my throat. Her golden hair cascaded down her back in messy waves, framing her flawless face and pale complexion that radiated both innocence and sadness. Her slender figure was like that of a ballerina, with toned legs that seemed to go on forever. But what struck me the most was her outfit - a blindingly white straight jacket and matching panties, leaving nothing to the imagination.

A soft blush tinted her cheeks, adding a rosy glow to her already radiant features. Her shyness was evident in the way she nervously tucked her lips between her teeth as she approached the truck. "Hey there, sweetheart! Hop in," I called out to her, rolling down the window. With a lightness to her step and a playful air about her, she made her way to the passenger side door. But as she reached for the handle, a crease of confusion appeared on her brow, breaking through the facade of childlike innocence she had been trying to maintain.

I quickly hopped out of the truck, my feet landing on the dusty ground with a soft thud. I hurried around to the passenger side and carefully opened the door for her, gesturing for her to climb inside. She gracefully maneuvered herself up into the high seat, her bare legs flashing in the sunlight. Despite her unusual attire and situation, she seemed completely carefree, a smile playing across her lips as she settled into the truck. My eyes couldn't help but wander to her shapely figure, accentuated by the way she playfully shook her ass at me while climbing in. It was then that I realized just how captivating she truly was

Her voice was like honey, sweet and innocent as it spoke the words, "Oh, um...I don't have any money, mister." There was a playful tone in her voice, a mischievous glint in her eye as she added with a sly wink, "Maybe we can work something out." As she turned to face me, her smile widened into a grin that sent a shiver down my spine. It was like she knew something I didn't, and was daring me to find out. Her lips were painted a deep red, and her teeth sparkled in the dim light of the alleyway. She exuded confidence and mystery, and I couldn't help but be drawn to her despite my better judgment.

As we drove off, I couldn't shake off the strange mix of emotions coursing through me. Part of me wanted to take her straight to the police, while another part was intrigued by this mysterious girl. Maybe I could drive around and try to get more information from her - or perhaps bring her back to my house...No, no, that's not right. I scolded myself mentally for even considering it. But there was no denying the undeniable pull this girl had on me, both physically and emotionally.

The truck's engine roared to life, and the tires kicked up dust as I shifted into gear, glancing sideways at her. She was staring out the window now, her expression a mix of wonder and confusion as the landscape whipped past us—a blur of fields and distant woods. The silence felt heavy, filled with unasked questions that hung between us like a thick fog.

"What's your name?" I finally asked, trying to cut through the tension.

She turned to me, her blue eyes gleaming in the sunlight. "You can call me Lily," she said softly, the name rolling off her tongue like a gentle melody. "What about you?"

“Jack,” I replied, my fingers tightening around the steering wheel. “Where are you coming from, Lily?”

She hesitated for a moment, twisting a strand of hair between her delicate fingers. "Just... somewhere far away," she murmured, lowering her gaze. “It wasn’t safe there.”

The weight of her words settled in my chest. What did she mean by 'not safe'? I glanced at her again, trying to catch a hint of what lay beneath that playful exterior. “Do you want to talk about it?”

“Not really,” she said with a flicker of sadness in her smile. “I’d rather talk about us.” She leaned closer, invading my space with an intoxicating scent of wildflowers mixed with something sweet and musky.

I swallowed hard as my pulse quickened. “Us? What do you mean by that?

“I mean…” Her voice trailed off as she tilted her head playfully, teasingly meeting my gaze. “We could have an adventure together. Just you and me.”

Images flashed through my mind—long drives through winding roads, laughter echoing under starlit skies, and secrets shared in hushed tones. It was all so tempting; a part of me wanted to forget the world outside this truck and get lost in whatever dream she was weaving.

But then reality punctured that fantasy. “Lily,” I began cautiously, “you might need help.”

“Help?” She scoffed lightly, brushing it off as if it were just a pesky fly buzzing around her head. “Help is overrated.” Her lips curled into that sly smile again, one that could either heal or haunt.

Suddenly, something in the rearview mirror caught my eye—a dark figure lurking at the edge of the road where we had just passed. My heart raced as dread coiled in my stomach, but when I looked again, it was gone. Had I imagined it?

“Jack?” She nudged me lightly with her shoulder. “You look tense.”

“I just thought I saw someone back there.”

Lily laughed softly, the sound both enchanting and disconcerting at once. “No one’s following us,” she assured me, but there was something in her tone that made me wonder if she knew more than she let on.

As they approached a fork in the road, one path veered towards my house while the other pointed towards the hospital. The weight of the decision hung heavily in the air, with each option pulling in a different direction. Or, I could simply pull off onto the side of the road and avoid choosing altogether. But that would just make me a coward, or worse, an asshole. The tension within me grew as I contemplated which path to take, knowing that either choice would have consequences.

I decided i would
