A cancellation

Hunter went back to his office, still smiling at his conversation with Lara. She was clearly unaffected by his pheromones, and while a small part of him was disappointed, the greater part was relieved. It would make life and work very difficult if every woman in the office was panting for him. No doubt Lara's lesbian sexuality had something to do with her immunity, but he wondered if her strength of will was a bigger factor.

As he sat down he saw the message light blinking on his phone, and pressed the button to play his voice mail.

"Hunt, my man!" the voice of one of his clients sounded from the speaker. "Dennis here. Sorry to do this, but I'm going to have to reschedule lunch today. Some shit has hit the fan over here, and I've gotta take care of it. Sorry about the late notice. How does next Wednesday look for you? We could do it then if that works. Call my girl and let her know."

Hunter shrugged and called his client, leaving a message that Wednesday would be fine. He sat back in his chair and considered what to do for lunch, now that he had it free.
