What happened to Lizette? (Lizette Sidestory)

Lizette is running through the sewers as fast as she can. How could she not have seen Roxy for what she really was? A lone woman trapped in the sewer? Yeah, right. This was a rookie mistake, and it had cost her Felicia and Audrey. It had almost even cost her herself. Thank god she didn’t drink from her canteen, or she might have been sexing up her fellow soldiers, just like the rest of them. The further she runs, the softer the moans of the other Roses become. Until she is too far to hear them. It is only then that Lizette feels safe enough to begin searching for an exit out of here.

She quickly finds a ladder and climbs up. When she exits the sewer she is on a sidewalk next to a big street. On the road are three desolate cars, all of them left behind by their owners when the Towerlings first attacked. Lizette reaches for her communicator. It’s time to call for a pickup. Maybe some bullshit excuse for what the hell just happened. But when Lizette reaches into her pocket, she finds the communication device no longer there.

“Son of a bitch.” Lizetter curses. “It must have fallen out while running through the sewers. Guess I’ll have to get there on my own.”

Lizette looks up at the sky. It is night and too cloudy for her to see the starts. No way she can find Polaris and figure out where the north is. Would it even be right to travel north? Lizette gets into one of the cars and sees if she can get it to work. Whomever this car belonged to took his keys with him. The next car had slashed tires and the third refuses to work, no matter how many times she uses the keys. And as talented as Lizette was, hot-wiring a car was out of her range of abilities.

“Bah.” Lizette says. “Guess that means I’m walking. What a perfect fucking night.”

Lizette looks around, studies the streets and the buildings. Eventually she decides to go west. Not because she knows that’s the fastest way back to base, but because she has a good feeling about it. At least a better feeling then the other directions gave her.

....It just felt right.
