Finish your job

After a bit of hard work you fold the last of the clothes. Shortly after, the Principal shows up, looking around.

"Ah, you're finished," she says happily. "Very well done, Mr O'Leary. Follow me."

"Yes, ma'am," you nod.

You follow the Principal along as you hear the dinner bell ring.

"Well, Mr O'Leary, for dinner today we're having meat cuts. I'm a strict principal and I run a tight school. I punish those who disobey my rules, but I'm happy to reward those who are good students, which you've proved yourself to be."

You walk into the cafeteria, and the Principal quickly leads you behind the counter. A middle-aged woman, her face just beginning to wrinkle, her long brown hair tied in a ponytail, stands there, the head lunch lady.

"Lunch Lady Jackie, can you please get this student two trays of the teacher meals?"

"Whatever you say, boss," the woman croaks in a voice that in and of itself tells you of the countless cigarettes she's smoked.

Lunch Lady Jackie gets you two bright red plastic trays, putting on two paper plates with gorgeous, well-cooked pieces of steak, before grabbing two cans of grape-flavored soda pop and putting them onto the two trays. Finally, she goes to the deep fat fryer, pulling out two baskets of perfectly cooked golden chips, popping them onto the tray.

"There you are, Mr O'Leary. A reward for your hard-work."

"Well, it seems staying on the right side of the rules is far more better than anything else," you say, before hastily adding "Ma'am."

You briefly wonder how the same chefs that are rumored by most students to be purposefully burning every meal they come across can cook something so delicious looking, but you suppose they're just really good chefs who just don't give a shit about cooking a good meal for anyone except the teachers.

"Absolutely," she smiles. "Please enjoy the food. Make sure to give the other tray to someone nice, a new sweetheart or a best friend."
