She cries

The women enter the same tunnel they used to get to the breeding pools. They run back up to where Kirie and Elliot met. Elliot closes the tunnel, then she turns to Kirie to see some tears streaming out of her eyes.

“It’s my fault.” Kirie says. “She’s been turned into a baby machine because I failed her. All my troops. Eve, Audrey, Alice, … I never should have been their captain.”

Seeing act like this, Elliot smirks. This may work in her favor.

“Not everyone, captain.” Elliot says compassionately . “I’m safe.”

“You’ve been turned into something called a Siren!” Kirie replies angry. “You’ve been claimed by the tower as well!”

“True, but I think I'm safe from ever becoming a brood mother.” Elliot replies. “I can move around the tower as a please. The Towerlings obey my commands …”

“Are you suggesting that I just let them transform me as well?” Kirie asks sternly.

“Shit, Kirie might already be recovering emotionally.” Elliot thinks.

“Do remember Lydia? That white haired chick with the dick.”

Kirie nods.

“I bet she's an even higher rank then the sirens. If she orders the Towerlings to come after you, I don’t think I’ll be able to hold them off. And it's only a matter of time until she does that.” Elliot says.

Then she looks away with a sad expression and says, “I would hate to see you get taken as a brood mother as well.”

In her mind Elliot imagines Kirie trapped like Clarissa and with a swollen belly, laying Octi eggs while suspended over the maturation pool. The idea fills her with joy. If only Lydia hat not ordered her to bring Kirie back.

Kirie sighs. “I guess. She did give orders to Roxy.”

“Whether we stay in this tower, or escape, I am certain Lydia will give the order to have you captured and bred.” Elliot lies. “If you don’t want to end up like Clarissa, maybe the best thing to do is confront her.”

“Elliot, if she really is superior to the sirens then she has even greater control over this tower then you do.” Kirie says annoyed. “I have no chance winning against her with just a lupick's claw.”

Above the women, the ceiling changed to grow three eyeballs. One as big as a human head, the other two as big as a hand. They look down and stare at the women as they continue their conversation.

“No.” Elliot says. “But Lydia is not mindless like the towerlings. She is intelligent. Maybe you can make a deal with her.”

“Like letting my soldiers go in exchange for myself?” Kirie asks.

“If you don’t, you are certain to join your troops as a broodmother yourself. At least this way you can get them out.” Elliot reasons.

“Don’t listen to her!” A third voice suddenly calls.

Elliot and Kirie turn their heads to see who is yelling at them. What they see is a naked woman with blonde hair. She is pointing an amputated spiderling leg at them as her weapon.

“That redhead is a siren. She works for the tower, you can’t trust a single goddamn thing she says.” The woman says.

“If she does, then why has she helped me so far?” Kirie replies.

“She’s trying to trick you. Get you to lower your guard. She will strike at you when it's most advantageous to her.”

“This is bad.” Elliot thinks. “Lydia never told her anything about another uninfected woman in here.”

Kirie starts to think about how Roxy had infiltrated their group...
