To the Grunt's surprise, a significant amount of names disappeared from the search engine after selecting the region he lived in. Apparently, Giovanni had a great deal more agents than just the ones in Johto and Kanto.

Nevertheless, from there the options thinned out dramatically and it only took a few seconds for the Grunt to come across their file in the system.

After selecting their file, the Grunt uploaded the virus he brought along to the server, causing massive data corruption and ultimately deleting his file. Within minutes, every server across the world that carried any mention of him and Team Rocket in the same breath would be utterly unsalvageable. Some other files would need to be infected of course, but most of it would survive. This way, no one could tell just what all had been lost. No one would suspect an attack of this level just to ensure one minor individual slipped through the system. But it would work in his favor.

With his business concluded, Grunt was officially a free man. Unfortunately, he was certainly neither a rich nor successful one. The next order of business was to settle down somewhere, building up whatever finances and resources he could. It went without saying that he would have to travel the Region if he had any hope of eventually catching up to and defeating the one responsible for the defeat of Team Rocket.
