On the Queen's Errand

Now matter how many quests Aurora had completed, she always treated each on as her most important mission. And it was. Yesterday's dragon could not harm her, and tomorrow's horror was beyond her reach. Today she had a letter from the queen.

Queen Cassandra was a beautiful woman with gemstones woven into her midnight black hair. Her figure was a perfect hourglass, her wit sharp, and her justice swift. In short, she was everything a queen needed to be, and more.

Today, Her Majesty's justice took the form of Aurora herself. She had received word that a Succubus had been spotted in one of the outlying villages, corrupting the menfolk and tormenting the womenfolk with her carnal wiles. At least, that was what the massager had said. Word traveled far in the kingdom, but not always accurately. A demon as powerful as a Succubus on the mortal plane could wreck unspeakable havoc, but even from the Abyss such creatures were cunning enough to cause trouble. Of course, messages such as these were often exaggerated over time, and the "Succubus" might just really be a man with a mistress and a jealous wife.

Still, Aurora was in the service of her queen, and she treated her quest with the gravity it deserved until proven otherwise. She would need to leave soon to prevent the demon from causing more harm, but if she had any preparations to make, she should make them now.
