A deal

With Katie trailing behind you, you ponder your options as you walk back to your office. Should you use your magic rings to get what you wanted?

"So um, Katie, what school do you go to?" you ask, trying to make small talk.

"Oh, I just graduated high school and I'm taking a gap year. But after two months of travel, I got tired of it so I came back to New York and decided to work the rest of the time before going to Princeton next year. My parents let me stay at the apartment downtown plus I get to use their credit cards, so this internship is perfect. Thanks so much for picking me."

Walking in to your office, Katie closes the door behind her and you hear a click. She had locked it.

Bemused, you raise an eyebrow but say nothing.

"Mister mayor..." Katie says.

"Please, call me John."

"Okay. John. I really want to succeed in this job and I know I'm just an intern, but I'm willing to do anything if it means I can get ahead. I'm really interested in politics and I could even study part time if it means I get a job at the end of this internship."

She sounds serious and you detect a hint of rosiness in her cheeks.

"Anything?" you ask.

She definitely blushes this time as you take a few steps towards her until you're just in front of her.

"Yes." Katie looks down at the floor.

"You have to look me in the eyes and tell me what that means. Anything could mean a lot of things," you say. You're careful with your words. You don't want to screw this up.

She looks up and stares into your eyes. Her lips are slightly parted and you want to lean in and kiss her, but it's not time yet.

"I... I... anything..."

You just keep holding her gaze. You need her to get there herself without any more prompting.

"I... you're... I mean, I don't have a boyfriend... and you're cute... What I mean to say is, I'll do stuff if that means I benefit from it."

You smirk and look like you were going to turn away when Katie grabs your arm. "Okay, okay! I'll sleep with you," she quickly adds.

"Just once?"

"No, as many times as you'd like."

You pull her in for a kiss but she pushes you away. "No, we can't here. People will talk... That won't work for either of us."

You hold her firmly by the arms and plant your lips on hers. "Fine, not in the office. You live alone?"

Katie nods and goes over to your desk to write down her address. It's not far away.

"Good. Go hang out for a little bit then head straight home at 5pm. I'll be there at 5.10pm."

"And we have a deal?" Katie asks. You were right, she's definitely a go-getter.

"Deal."

The pretty girl smiles widely and hugs you. The smell of her hair in your face is intoxicating and it takes all of your willpower to let go of her embrace.

"Go," you give her a gentle pat on the ass and urge her to leave. She does with a big grin on her face.

5pm is still hours away when you remember that you have that time control ring stashed in the mansion. You teleport there and put on the ring, before fast-forwarding to 5pm. Then, you teleport back to the mayor's office where you wait a few minutes before leaving to go to Katie's place.
