As you sit around you keep on replaying the attack over in your head, trying to figure out where you had gone wrong.

Since you had been driven out by the Elders you had tried your best to avoid contact with humans, indeed the Elders had always taught you that the should be avoided. They could not be used to breed and they rarely had much meat on them. They also carried sharp metal that could hurt you badly.

They had done a good job when it came to you, you had avoided human contact up until now so well that you had never had to raise you hand against a human. Before you left the cave you had only ever seen females and they had never been killed by the Elders. At least, they had never killed them on purpose.

There had been only one time when you had seen a human fight against one of the Elders. They had run into group of pointy humans. They had managed to kill the males and had brought the bodies back with them to show you. You recall looking at the shiny hard stuff they had over their bodies and how the Elders had shown you that you could crush them with your bunched fist.

However that was not all they had brought back with them.

There had been a female with the group, she was taller than any of the females you had seen up to then. Her skin was dark and her body rippled with muscle. She fought the Elder every step of the way, until he had ordered you and the other young ones to hold her down. It was the first and only time you would touch a female before she was bred. You had grabbed onto her arm, you recall feeling the thick muscles moving under her skin as she had struggled to get free. She had been so unlike any of the females in the cave that you were amazed.

One of the other young ones thought she would be weak like the others, he lost an eye for that mistake as she wriggled free and jammed her thumb into his eye socket. In the surprise you had all let go enough for her to get completely free.

In seconds she was up and running into the trees, the Elder had bellowed in rage and gone after her. He did not return for hours, you guessed he never caught her because when he returned he beat the young one who had let her wriggle free to ****.

In the now you looked at you thought about how easily that Elder had killed the young one. If one of your own could kill another with that much ease then how little effort must it take to kill a Human?

Moving to the mouth of the cave you decide that in the future you will need to try and be more delicate with how you capture females.

Although a deep rubble in your gut reminds you that you really need to get some more food before you go hunting for any humans.
