Chapter 55 by fredmarley139

How is your trip to the spider's cave?

Relatively uneventful

You and Dana walk through the forest side by side, enjoying the peaceful atmosphere. Neither of you speak, instead walking together in companionable silence. As you travel, you examine the new modifications to Dana. As far as you can see, only her skin has been affected, turning it the color of new plant shoots. Everything else is the same. You do notice though, that the changes to Dana's skin don't apply everywhere. Her lips, nipples and labia are still their original pale pink.

You suddenly break the silence. When did you change your mind about being transformed? I mean, I can get that you got carried away yesterday, but you didn't seem too worried about it this morning either. "Um..." Dana says, flushing, "Well, I mean, it just sort of slipped out yesterday, and then, well, I thought I might as well finish what I started." The end of her statement is accompanied by a shrug. You nod, but remain somewhat concerned. Are you sure you're okay with the changes? you ask. "Well, uh, I've just turned green, so far, and you said I look good in green, right?" Dana's flush deepens. "Oh, trust me. You do," you reassure her. Dana's words aren't exactly a rousing endorsement, but they do seem to indicate that she is fine with everything that occurred so far, and won't go out of her way to avoid further changes.

You wonder if you can access her stats now. You attempt to bring them up. No luck. Hmmm, you wonder why you can't. Could it be that you just can't see a hero's stats, even if you transform them? On the other, hand it sort of seems like Dana hasn't completed her transformation yet, which may also explain it. If that's the case though, why is it taking so long? With all the others, the metamorphosis occurred all at once. Is it because Dana's a hero? You shake your head in frustration.

You're startled from your pondering by Dana cursing, "Ow! Motherfucker!" What? Are you okay? you ask, concerned. "I'm fine. I just stepped on a fucking rock." You're confused for a moment. How could stepping on a rock hurt? Then, you look down at Dana's feet and understand. Her skin is so soft and squishy, no wonder it hurts when she step on a stone. Not even pausing for a second thought, you scoop Dana into your arms. "Hey! What are you doing? Let me down, you idiot! I was just a rock. I'll be fine." Dana struggles in your arms trying to get free. I can either carry you in my arm or warp you in a cocoon. It's your choice, you say firmly. Dana's struggles abruptly cease.

Dana huffs and crosses her arms, pressing her large breasts together. The movement draws your attention, and you look down, almost stumbling at the sight. You've said it before and you'll say it again: Dana looks really good when she is angry. You regain your balance and continue walking, while Dana resumes her tirade. "It's fine," she says, obviously annoyed, "It happens all the time. It barely costs me any HP at all. The regen takes care of it in a matter of seconds." What!? This happens all the time? you exclaim. How could you have not known about this? "Well, duh!" says Dana, rolling her eyes, "I don't have any shoes." She flutters her legs in the air, managing to make the petulant motion look rather attractive. Why does she have to be so distractedly pretty when you're trying to have a conversation? Shoes? You're puzzled; hat is she talking about? Dana rolls her eyes again. "Yes. The things people wear on their feet?" Ah, yes. You remember her wearing some sort of leather covering on her feet. There was no need for her to be so rude; it's not like you've ever needed them.

Thinking about "shoes", leads you to thinking about clothes in general. Dana's lack of clothing has never really bothered you before. You've never really understood why heroes wear clothes in the first place, not to mention how much you enjoy seeing Dana without them. However, as you give the issue more thought, you start to see the appeal. Before, you were the only one who could see Dana naked. Now that she is outside the Lair though, that is no longer the case. The thought of anyone else observing Dana's nude form is not a comfortable one. It almost makes you feel afraid, like the sight of Dana's exposed body is something precious that could be stolen. You especially don't want her to be on full display for the spiders when you arrive at their cave. You still remember the way Drux looked at her during your first negotiations with them, and, despite everything that has occurred, you still don't fully trust the spiders when it comes to Dana. You get so worked up about this that you start trying to find a way to get Dana some clothes. There might be something for her to wear among the loot, but doesn't solve the initial encounter. You could though, weave something similar to the blanket you made for her, leaving a hole for her head. Yes, that would work. You set to work creating the rough garment.

As you weave, you decide to broach the issue of clothing with Dana. Do you miss clothing? you ask. "Huh?" You caught Dana off guard. "Why do you ask?" You shrug casually. Just wondering. Dana considers the question, then speaks, "I was a little embarrassed by being naked at first, but it wasn't like I could do anything about it, so I just grew to accept it. There are no environmental penalties in this area, so it's not like I need to where them. At this point it almost feels normal." So, uh, you don't want to wear clothes anymore? you ask, with some trepidation. Dana shrugs. "Not right now anyway. It feels kinda nice to go without." Well, this doesn't bode well. Up ahead you see the spider's cavern in the trees.

How do you handle this?
