A little time before the birth actually happens.

As the people in the ambulance wheeled Sophie to the maternity ward, I held onto her hand.

"Zoe! Zoe, I'm scared."

"You're doing just fine Sophie. You're going to be fine."

We made it to the maternity ward as the doctors and nurses brought in various machines, medicines and other medical what-have-you's into the room with her. I was told to wait outside.

"Excuse me, are you the other parent?" Said one of the doctors, wearing a pair of glasses and had her brown hair tied in a tight bun.

At the speed I was hearing it, she may as well have been speaking Spanish. With a stutter. I nodded yes passively.

"Well, Miss Sophie Lake is currently in labor. She is not fully dilated yet, so there is still plenty of time before she is ready to give birth. Contractions are stable. I suggest you and Miss Lake keep calm until the time comes."

"When will that be?"

"She seems to be doing very well, so it might not happen for at least a few more hours."

"Zoe!"

I turned around and saw Heather and mom rush up, having just driven up here after I called them in the ambulance. Heather clung to me and have me a deep, calming kiss. She broke it, our lips making a smack as they separated and held me close.

"This is really happening," I stated.

"Yeah. I guess it is, mom," she answered.

"Oh god, I'm going to be a mom!"

"Oh god, my baby's having a baby!"

Mom grabbed me and hugged me close, burying me between her naked breasts, rinsing my hair with fat tears that dripped off of her face.

Mom let me go as I saw Sophie's mothers standing just down the hall. Her birth mother Ellis was a plump, homely woman with long brown hair tied up and woven back, wearing a dress with her f-cup breasts exposed at the front. Sophie's other parent Lindsey was taller and very lean, her hair the same shade of blonde as Sophie's, wearing knee-high boots and fingerless gloves that reached up to her shoulders, the rest of her body nude and exposed.

They rushed over to us and we all had a group hug.

"Where is she? Where is my little girl?" Asked Lindsey.

"She's in the other room. They said that the baby won't be here for a few hoWWH!"

I was cut off by Ellis, who gave me the biggest bear-hug she could as she cried hysterically from joy, excitement and unadulterated worry.
