Max encounters the recovery team

[Prologue]

SG-7 was boots on the ground at 0434 hours followed by the containment team sent out by Stargate Command. Colonel Monoghan led her team of four other elite soldiers through the woods as they approached the downed Tel'tak vessel, two circling gunships kept on station for support during the mission. But as of yet no signs of life had been noted on the exterior of the badly beaten Goul'd vessel. Satcom and Tac-air command had picked up the object as it swung around the moon with a pair of **** gliders hot on its tail.

The gliders withdrew as the Tel'tak entered terran atmosphere, most likely fearing reprisal from our own F302's which launched from Jeffries airforce base in response. However it seemed the Tel'tak had been severely damaged during its flight and Tac-air command had tracked the object to set down in a relatively secluded section of the smokey mountains.

Within minutes her team was dispatched by Stargate command and soon found themselves repelling into the nearest landing zone 2 clicks away from the crash site. Given the unknown nature of the downed spacecraft, colonel Monoghan had opted for caution to which she might regret having to trudge through the dark and dismal woods in full combat gear for quite a ways was not her idea of fun.

The gunships remained on station orbiting the crash site and providing visual reports before she even set eyes on the wreckage itself. Which is why she and her team already knew to expect the brutal impaling that the ship had endured. Her second in command Captain Scottsboro remarked that the vessel surely would be leaking naquahdah and could be in a very precarious state if they do not hurry though, so she and her team hoofed it the final mile to their destination. She and lieutenant Gheer was on the scene first, followed by captain Scottsboro, lieutenant Danvers and Sergeant Haisley who took up perimeter securing the crash site.

She and Gheer cautiously made their way a crossed the clearing and towards the fairly burned and scorched outer hull plating. Gheer being the geek he is made a joke about crossing streams which went over her head, but she used it as a faux pas to silence him, ordering him to maintain his attention on mission. To which the recruit swallowed nervously and held his fully functional X-699 plasma rifle at the ready over her shoulder pointed directly at the only aperture in the Tel'tak's silvery hull. But given the angle of the spacecraft, Monoghan found herself having to climb a little difficultly in full combat gear up to the external airlock, which comprised of her slinging her rifle over her shoulder and giving herself a running start before pulling herself into the hatch way. Turning about to offer her subordinate a hand up revealed a rather amused glare plastered to the recruits face. And with shame she realized the geek had surely been staring at her full and supple ass, a gift from her latina mother, which surely provided an enticing view as she had struggled to climb into the entranceway of the wreckage.

Lieutenant Gheer seemed to notice her sour expression at his perving and scampered as best he could to join her before the two of them made their way into the main hold of the ship. Not much to their surprise the place was an utter wreck with consoles destroyed and three pulverized Jafa littering the area in various states of mortification. The ship itself seemed unassuming, what one would expect from any crashed Tel'tak. Her trained eye however recognized the conjoined axes insignia of Lord Ba'al's Jafa adorning the corpses foreheads.

Suddenly however a crash was heard from the cargo compartment and she and her teammate perked up training their weapons on the slightly ajar doorway ti the cargo hold of the ship. Weighing her options Monoghan decided to call out rather than to attempt the storm the room with only a rookie for backup. Her clear voice carried into the cargo chamber and startled the lone occupant of the Tel'tak into more scuffling soon followed by him responding "okay okay! Normally I'm much luckier than this, but please don't shoot!" Monoghan smiled we got a 'lucky' one huh? We will see whose lucky when she brings this Goul'd back to General O'Neil.

Max readied himself, the men in black was here, or in this case a woman in black judging by her voice. He knew that the government didn't take too kindly to nosy conspiracy theorists like himself. Expecially when standing on this goldmine of proof that was this alien vessel. And so with trepidation he swallowed and climbed through the cargo bay door holding only the mysterious orb in his hands, now inert and lifeless.

Monoghan and Gheer had their energy weapons trained on the would be survivor. Oddly surprised at the state of the Goul'd's dress, adorned in a rather regular khakis and t-shirt combo. The short and rather greasy looking young man who climbed into the main hold of the vessel didn't fit the profile for Goul'd lord, but he may very well be a member of the trust of course so the two of them weren't taking any chances. Monoghan ordered Gheer to search the cargo section while she reported that she had a possible 'Code Gamma ' on her hands, confirming that she had an interloper of unknown origin in custody.

As Gheer returned empty handed the colonel proceeded to zip tie restrain her prisoner and the two soldiers led Max outside and into the clearing where one of the gunships was ready for lift off and transport to Cheyenne mountain, Stargate command headquarters.
