Normal workday

You recognize the voice as belonging to Gemma, the middle-aged woman who runs the restaurant when Mick isn't around. You go out into the front, where Gemma is working by the cash register.

"Hey, Gemma," you say. "What's up?"

"Oh, good, I was just checking to see if you had gotten in yet," Gemma says.

"Doesn't look too busy today," you say.

"Nope," Gemma says. "Hopefully it speeds up by the afternoon."

You're not really sure if you agree with your manager's hopes. It would be kind of nice if the day was a nice and easy one, but some more cash would be nice, too.

"Who's working today?" you ask.

"Sydney, Alyssa, and Junior," Gemma says. "And Pete's in the back."

"Alright," you say. "I'll get to work."

"Good," Gemma says, more harshly than she needed to.
