“Hey man, did you hear? Toin’s going to be doing Mio later-like right here in the lounge!”

“Nice! That guy’s my hero! When?”

“Don’t know. Hey, Sairenji!” Haruna stopped short, eyes wide, and she diffidently approached the upperclassmen. The blonde athlete nodded, “You're in his circle so you know, right? When’s the show start?”

She was a bit mortified to admit she didn’t know, feeling like a bad friend to Toin. She apologized for letting the two boys down and made a hasty departure.

The stocky one called after her, “Don’t worry about it, cutie! Just let us know if you get the chance!”

Haruna wasn’t really sure what to do with herself. She’d put her things in the room she’d been assigned and as it was still a few hours until curfew, she didn’t really feel like lying down.

So now she was wandering around the main floor of the hotel where a lot of students were congregating. To one side of the front desk was a large lounge area with an assortment of comfortable couches and chairs along with several long low coffee tables. There were no empty spots and a lot of students were standing or sitting on the floor to be near their particular group of friends. A larger gathering was in one corner where one of the school nurses, Miss Mikado, was giving some sort of presentation. Along one wall there were two long tables taken over by the discipline committee and Haruna could see a very harried looking Yui presiding over her team as they worked to enter photos from the beach into their computers as well as take care of some inspections.

With nothing better to do, Haruna decided to see if Yui needed any help.

The taller girl’s tense features brightened at the offer and she quickly scanned the clipboard she was holding, “Ah! Yes! Thank you so much, Sairenji-san! Yes, actually. Somehow I’ve totally mismanaged the preparation for this trip! Our supplies were left behind! If I give you some petty cash, could you purchase all of the condoms that store on the corner has? The staff kindly provided what the hotel had in their shop but it won’t nearly be enough. Whether they intend to do anything or not, I want every student properly equipped!”

Haruna felt her cheeks flush. It would be embarrassing to make such a purchase, but she nodded firmly anyway, “Of course. Please rely on me!”

Yui beamed and thanked her, “You are such a high integrity student, Sairenji-san! You do Sainan High proud.”

Haruna flushed again at the praise and looked away. Yui went over to the table, opened a metal box and took out some money. Soon enough she was thrusting the notes into Haruna’s hands, “Here. Oh! And don’t forget to get some large size for Toin-san!”

Haruna almost didn’t speak up as Yui was definitely an authority figure but she didn’t want to see the discipline committee’s money wasted, “Ah…um, Toin-san doesn’t wear condoms…”

“What?! Of course he does! He must! Its school policy- a strict disciplinary ordinance under my direct purview!”
Haruna was honestly at a loss. She knew Yui wasn’t a member of Toin’s social circle like she was and maybe hadn’t seen him have as much sex as Haruna had. But surely she’d taken notice in all of his pictures in the school display and she’d been right there helping out during Toin’s Game on the beach when he’d been with Chisato.

Yui stopped staring forcefully at Haruna as the girl shrunk under her gaze and finally just waved her hand, “Whatever. The principal has a large one and I’m sure some of the other teachers do too. Plus I won’t have some idiot boys claim they didn’t have to wear one because the ones we provided were too small! Please, just buy everything they have currently in stock!”

Haruna agreed and went to accomplish her task as quickly as she could. Buying all the little store had on the shelf and then having to ask for any they had in the back was just as mortifying as she’d expected. The store owner was a wizened little old matron who reminded Haruna of her grandmother. Thankfully, she had heard of Haruna’s high school and her demeanor brightened considerably after Haruna’s explanation.

Returning to the hotel with the boxes stacked in her arms, Haruna squeaked in surprise as her crush suddenly appeared in front of her.

“Sairenji! Oh! Let me help you with those!”, Rito’s voice rushed as he reached out to her.

“Yuuki-kun!” she exclaimed as she spun away, suddenly feeling embarrassed to be holding all these condoms even though she had a perfectly good reason to.

Somehow she lost her balance or Rito did as he stumbled into her and the boxes were knocked from her grasp.
