Francis held the gem where the woman could see it and said, "Officer Banks, contact your dispatcher and, using the correct procedure, tell them you issued me a warning. Tell them that you will be off the air for a few minutes for a bathroom break, then signal me with your headlights. I will pull out, and you will follow my car. When I stop and get out, pull up beside me and await more instructions.

The campus copette walked back to her car and spoke on the radio for a moment, then flashed her lights at Francis. He started his car and pulled out, checking for traffic. He drove for several minutes until he was at a remote commuter lot. A few cars were parked in the lot, but no-one seemed to be there, so Francis pulled up to a stand of trees near the lot and stopped his car, picked up the gem, and got out.

Joselyn pulled her car up next to Francis, then looked up at him.

"Get out and follow me," Francis said, still holding the gem in front of her. He watched as she got out, then led her into the trees.

Once they were in the trees, Francis said, "Remove your clothes and put them on the ground." As Joselyn did that, Francis thought about what to do.
