Zelda may have been beautiful, wealthy, the ruler of Hyrule, bearer of the Triforce of Wisdom, and the reincarnation of the Goddess Hylia, but she seldom had time for romance. Ruling a kingdom just required too much time. Even without some dark entity threatening everything she knew, there was still petty politics, disagreements to settle between the Gorons and the Zoras to settle, grievances to listen too, all sorts of things that she couldn't delegate to others, and as soon as she had finished her day's work, the day was over, and tomorrow's tasks were already piling up.
That was why she was especially excited to spend the day with Link. Even though he was a quiet, unassuming Hylian, many had heard about his exploits and valor as the Legendary Hero. Few, however, knew just how gorgeous he was up close. He was almost prettier than a man should be, and the slight turn of his head could send Zelda's heart racing, but his delicate features hid a strength and determination unmatched by men or demons.
And today Zelda had him all to herself. She wouldn't even have to bring her guards. During Hyrule's darkest hour, Link had won where her knights had failed, so even if something happened to her while they were alone together, she knew that he would be able to protect her.
But where would their date take them? She had let Link surprise her, so they could end up anywhere. She wouldn't object to a romantic picnic in Hyrule Fields, but perhaps Link would take her to the far corners of the kingdom, to Lake Hylia or **** Mountain. Or perhaps she had overestimated the Legendary Hero's knack for romance, and his idea of a good time involved exploring a dungeon and fighting monsters together.
Wherever he took her, it would be an experience that neither of them would ever forget.
