Aunt Jill stopped her.

Katie was about to enter Aunt Jill’s car before Aunt Jill grabbed her by the arm.

“What!?!?” the teen yelled mostly out of shock.

“You forgot something.” the older woman replied gravely.

“Did I?” Katie asked. She placed her free hand to her head as she tried to recall what she needed to bring. She had her backpack, her homework, and a somewhat decent set of clothes to wear. What did she forget?

The light clanking of metal against metal brought the brunette back to reality. Boy, did she feel stupid.

“Keys?” Katie kept her head to the ground.

“Always remember to lock your front door before leaving your house and keep you keys on you at all time. You should know these things being a girl your age. Didn’t your parents teach you anything?”

They did, didn’t they? She’s responsible. In fact, many have comment on how mature she could be. It’s just that life has been horrible to her these past couple of days. Today was no different, being stripped in her own home and her aunt treating her like a child.

With a sigh, the brunette looked up to her oppressor.

“Hand them over,” her aunt said.

“What?” Katie asked trying her best to contain the anger building inside of her.

“What you want to serve as your penalty. The game hasn’t started, you’re fully clothed and yet you still fail to use common sense. Your mother should have told me that this was the real you. If you were in my classroom when you were ten or twelve, you’d be leading your grade by now! I can’t have you be the doormat that you are. Shaking. Crying. Slobbering. Pathetic! You need to learn how to use what you have. That’s why I am limiting your options to put more pressure on. If it ends up with you having nothing but your brains and your birthday suit, so be it. Prove to me that you can act your age and not the little girl that I see before me! Now, you need to be penalized. You are allowed to choose what comes off first but I get to pick another piece that you’re wearing when the round actually begins. Please pick soon, I’m trying to be nice here.”

Silence befell the driveway after Aunt Jill’s latest rant but the simmer of the teen’s rage was almost audible.
