Matt's family didn't have the home gym or workout equipment he knew many of the other students would have, but how much equipment does it take to do a hundred pushups? With the football punks giving him a hard time, he needed to bulk up or he'd be getting sand kicked on his face all summer long.

"Help your sister with her homework," his mom said.

"Sure. In a few minutes," he answered.

Their tiny house was too small to work out inside, so he went out to the back yard and tried pushups.

He'd set his goal as one hundred but when he hit twenty-five, his arms were trembling and his chest felt like it was on fire. So, he lost his shirt and tried chin-ups hanging from a tree branch.

He only managed five. No wonder Jordan could push him around like he was a putz.

He went back to pushups, then alternated between pushups, crunches and chin-ups until he was dripping with sweat.

"Matt. Your sister is waiting for you." His mom had somehow snuck up on him.

"Sorry mom. I, well, I don't want to be a wimp at school."
