Chapter 4 by Ator Ator

Follow the guys? The girls? Or does this prove to be uneventful?

The girls.

The girls followed the curve to the right at the fork and down about another 50 yards before coming to the clearing. 5 cabins stood there, each numbered, raised slightly from the ground. However the most prominent feature was the fact there were no windows. Each wall had enormous screens instead of glass, where a heavy wooden awning hung over them. If not for roof supports, they would be transparent.

"Well. Not much for privacy around here, are they?" said Cindy.

Stacy make a sarcastic noise, "Pffft. A few curtains and it's just like home."

Toni laughed. "Maybe if you live in a zoo. I just hope the campers keep to their sides."

"You're right. Just have to put the fear of God into a bunch of 5th graders. Easy." Stacy replied.

"Well? Let's check them out! Dibs on the closest!" Jill sang, bouncing to the nearest cabin. They watched a she pulled open the heavy wood door and ducked inside. "Cooooool." she said, spinning in circles, her arms spread.

Cindy eased up next to the short girl. She had seen them chummy earlier. "What's her deal?"

The smaller girl looked startled for a second. She flushed red briefly. "S..she's just...happy. A lot. I...guess." Stacy noted she never made eye contact with the other girl.

"All right, lets get crackin!" Toni said, clapping her hands together. Each girl made their way down the path, picking out their cabins. Ahiri got the one closest to Jill, who was still spinning in her own heaven. Cindy and Stacy didn't care, so they respectively picked the next two, leaving Toni on the far end. She groaned a little inwardly as she approached. If the inside was similar to the outside, it was going to be a lot of work.

As she entered, it actually took a moment for her eyes to adjust. The heavy roof and long awnings caused the inside to be fairly dark, compared to outside. Like a really heavily shaded part of a forest. She knew the large tree canopy outside helped. This might stay pretty cool during the summer, she thought. It didn't seem too bad inside. Fewer cobwebs, no hornet's nests, some leaves and dirt, but pretty clean otherwise. Her bags dropped to the floor with a thud as she was getting a feel for the large single room. Rough, but not "roughing it" by any means. She gave a mental tisk when she saw the object in one corner. The coiled black rope must have been left by a careless camper last year. She reached down to pick it up. It didn't look like it would be much use in a lost and found, but it could be useful elsewhere.

Right before she grabbed it, the rope suddenly moved.

That's when she screamed.

Does she die of snake bite?
