My mission was fulfilled, what I had discovered today would without a doubt lead to the imprisonment of Rukia. She would likely be stripped of whatever rank she might hold and be severely punished by captain Byakuya.

But that’s what you get for breaking the rules. I left the graveyard behind me in search of a more forlorn location where I could open the gateway. After giving the time table I had received at the start of the mission a quick check I opened the portal and started running.

As always I left the portal on the other side with a huge sigh of relief. Seriously the Senkaimon was about the closest thing to Damnation I could imagine.

“Welcome back.” An unfamiliar voice greeted me. I looked over and saw one of the Gotei 12 members mindlessly browse through a magazine. Well if he enforced the lazy scientist Gotei 12 stereotype I would follow the image everyone had of the Gotei 2.

Without a word I turned in the necessary papers to affirm that I had returned and went my way. Soifon had told me to report directly to her so I went over to the Gotei 2 grounds. It was roughly 6 PM so if she followed her usual schedule she should be looking over the training grounds right now.

I was proven right when I found her walking through the regiments which had gathered, correcting even the slightest mistake in movement she found on her iron watch.

Soifon had noticed me the second I entered the training grounds, with a wave of her hand she signalled for me to come closer. A few moments later I kneeled before her, “Agent Nize reporting back captain, I finished the mission successfully.”

I had my head lowered so I couldn’t see Soifon but I imagined that I felt something like approval radiating of her. I basked in the feeling, being recognized by your superiors was great. Of course a certain fat fuck had to ruin the moment.

“Eh? What mission, cap’ you should have told me about it!” I didn’t even need to look up to know what happened next. First a surprised shout of pain followed by the sound of 151 kg of meat, half flying half rolling, reaffirmed what I already knew: Omaeda was an idiot.

“Disrespectful tones will not be tolerated.” Soifon shouted before turning back to me in a more quit voice, “Come to my office in 30 minutes, I want you to tell me all the details until then you are dismissed.”

“Yes, captain.” I said before retreating from the training grounds and into my quarters. I immediately disrobed and got into the shower. I wasn’t exactly dirty, the dirt of the living world didn’t stick much to Shinigami’s, but after not showering in 3 days this was an act of long overdue routine. I spent the rest of the time getting my report in order before making my way over to Soifon’s office.
