"I'm sorry, I'm dateless."

"I'm sorry, miss," said John. "I'm dateless."

The older woman frowned, "Tells old Olive what happened. I'm here for yah kiddo."

John went on to explain his predicament. How're had wanted to ask out Courtney, but how he flaked. How she was beautiful and smart. And after he finished Olive nodded politely and gave a wry smile.

"I've got somethin' that just might help," she said and pulled out two plastic containers with matching corsage and boutonnière. "This is a special flower that I made myself. Carefully crossbred with untold exotic flowers. Some which never have been seen by man! But a woman?" She paused for effect, "Well that there is a different sort of tale."

"What does it do?" Asked John, a bit carried away by the theatrics.

"You wear the boutonnière and get the girl you like to wear the corsage. Then she will be yours. It's on the house cause your story spoke to me." Olive wiped a tear from her cheek.

John reached for the corsage box, then Olive grabbed his hand, "Don't touch it yourself. Only let the girl you want to touch it. It has to be a girl."

Olive looked him dead straight in the eye, "Also make sure to refrigerate them!"
