Did the monster press its advantage?

Of course!

Chapter 6 by Haledar

Jane grunted at the pain that flowered in her back. The putrid muck that clung to the walls and floor did nothing to soften the blow she received when she struck them. She turned her head just in time to see the dark shape lunge toward her. In an instant Jane's sword arm was wrapped in coils of strong muscle.

The creature moved surprisingly quickly for its bulk. Jane barely had time to react to her ensnared arm before the thing heaved its heavy mass over above her body, pressing her bound limb into the chill stones beneath her. A second strong tendril swiftly circled around Jane's ankle and pulled sharply, threatening to pull her hip from its joint.

It's prey effectively disabled, the monster slowed. It moved its large central body over Jane's. Apparently studying her. Light from the flare shown from where Jane had dropped it somewhere behind the strange alien being. It cast stark, frightening shadows across the creature. When its mouth hovered over the young woman's groin, it seemed to puff itself up as if it were inhaling her scent. A moment later that weird and hideous body, supported by its many tentacles, began moving across the floor toward Jane's head.

The girl used her free hand to grab the tentacle around her dominant wrist. Aside from squishing slightly where she squeezed, the rope-like limb showed no signs of yielding. Slowly, the thing that might be considered a face drifted into view. Jane stared into those four black, glassy eyes. The thing stared back at her. She could almost believe that it was trying to say that it was going to enjoy what was coming. That was when Jane felt another tentacle brush experimentally against the crotch of her tight, leather suit.
