Chapter 19 by TheScyle TheScyle

How many books does he give out 'so cheap'?

Not as many as he would have liked

Galagils plan was to give out 40 to 50 License books this evening so he would have enough money. After all, money was important, even to him. Sure, he could just take everything he wanted for free, that wasn't the problem. However, he could not rent things or give things in order without paying.

Much to his dissatisfaction did the line of customers end after 29 books were sold, 4 of them being rank 1 and one guy being so rude, he recieved a rank 4 book.

Be it as it is, he could always sell more later. He walked to the room where he and Abigail had spend some time talking, before he had send her out again. Right. Abigail. Maybe he should look if she was still on the place where he had left her. After all he had done, he would probably give her a rank 1 book for free. He felt a bit guilty, so making up for it at least this far would not be the worst choice he could have made.

Sadly, or maybe luckily for her, she was already done and nowhere to be found. Well, she will come to him sooner or later, once she needs a License book. He went on to said house and bought it with his freshly earned cash. Just as he did an option appeared in his menu.

~Do you wish to buy furniture for this place?~

He confirmed that he wanted to and started to decorate. First he thought of going for an office, but on second thought, he changed it into a more comfortable place. As he was done with it, it looked more like a living room.

In the back there was a white couch, making a U turn around a dark red wooden table. On the far right side was a door, leading to the stairs. In front of the relaxing place on the couch was an office table, all black. On the long side of the table, there were three chairs in the same colour. One on the backside, where Galagil would sit and welcome new customers. The other two were placed opposed to him, for the customer and possible guardians to sit.

The left side of the room was kept empty, as the left wall was having a wide open window front. The free space between the door and the table was filled by a red carpet. The walls were repainted in a clean white with red lines drawn onto them. It had taken Galagil a bit over two hours to go through all available decoration to fill this place the way he wanted. As he pressed the 'confirm' button he was about to shout out.

"8500 Cor? Just for decorating one room? What the hell?!" He still confirmed to buy it, his mood however, only worsened. He walked upstairs and found two more, smaller, rooms and a bath. He did not watch out for decoration this time and just filled it with the most needed furniture and ended paying another 700 Cor, leaving him with 4200 Cor for whatever he planned to do next. But not today.

Because finally, after this very long but also very productive day, he fell into his bed.

The next morning started as stressfull as the last one ended. It was not even past sunrise and yet Galagil was unable to sleep. This was not due to sleeping problems or any condition of himself. It was due to the fact that in front of his house a crowd was gathering. He looked out of the window and saw people waving their friends over and pointing at his house.

"It is here. This is where he lives." Oh god no. Was it time already? Did he do something so the people turned against him now? He had been so careful not to overdo it, most of the time.

"HEY, GALAGIL! OPEN UP ALREADY!" He heard another man call him out. No doubt, they were here for him. Well, if he was about to die, then he would do so with all his pride. He selected his clothes carefully. He would have liked to put on a uniform or something traditional for this at least, but all he had were his basic clothes. He never bought new ones.

He walked down the stairs and opened the door, looking in the expecting eyes of at least 50 people who by now had gathered around.

The moment they laid eyes on him was the moment his menu seemed to explode. Trade offers. And even more trade offers. He recieved trade offers from all of them, and they all were offering the same. A book and 1000 Cor. He couldn't not laugh at his own thoughts. They wanted to buy License books.

"Alright, everybody, listen up. The License Association will open the first time this afternoon. Right now I am here in private and not selling any License books." They seemed to understand this rather easy at least.

Galagil breathed in deep and made a decision. Today he would finish all of his preperations. Tomorrow would be the opening day of the License Association.

He walked past the people and locked his house behind him. His steps were taking him straight to his personal announcement board. Since most people have apparantly already figured out where he lived, there was no use in hiding it anyway, so he hung up a new paper, proclaiming:

"The License Association is residing in Cluster street 5.

We are usually open between 10:00 am and 12:00 am, as well as 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

Changes may occur spontanously and have to be excused.

Customers will have to form a line. They will be asked inside when the Association is having the time to treat them. Everyone who is out of line will not be dealt with.

Everyone who is in line more than one hour before the opening time will be sent away again."

The last line should make sure he at least could sleep. It was not even 6:00 am and they had woken him up. Well, no point in going back to bed now that he was up once.

Galagil decided to spend the first half of the day on planning which actions should require a License. Once done with that, he could use the second half on his plan of how to aquire those and maybe even a list of costs for each.

Without further ado he sat down in the first place he could find. Maybe it was fate, but it happened to be a Maid cafe. Two almost empty pieces of paper in front of him, he ordered some coffee. The first paper being under the title "Actual License actions" while the other was titled "Interesting additions".

Three hours later he was satisfied with both lists. Just to be sure he hadn't forgotten anything he reread them once more.

"License categories by Galagil

The following changes will take effect on Day 5 of SAO at 2:00 pm

These actions are now in category one. This means they require a License to perform.

  • Accepting a quest
  • Using a Skill
  • Equipping a weapon
  • Equipping armor (every piece of body coverage which increases your resistance by at least 5, or if it has a special effect is considered armor)
  • Forming a group
  • Forming a party
  • Forming a guild
  • Joining a group
  • Joining a party
  • Joining a guild
  • Renting a place
  • Renting equipment
  • Buying a place
  • Buying equipment
  • Crafting quipment
  • Going into a dungeon
  • Attacking a floors boss"

With these things said, there was no way any player could resist to come and buy a License if they wanted to survive or basically do anything. Once done with those, his eyes went onto his paper of 'Interesting additions'.

"The following actions also require a License:

  • complain about the need of Licenses
  • wearing underwear
  • having an orgasm
  • marrying
  • having sex
  • masturbating"

He had thought of a lot more things to put on those list to **** everyone to do them, but he stopped himself. Where would the point in negative Licenses, or rather punishment Licenses be if everyone was **** to do everything he liked anyway. With these things at least there would be enough uproar and also sexual frustration around for it to become just interesting enough.

Will he publish the new categories now?
