Chapter 9 by generaljiggler generaljiggler

Looks like you need to pick a job and a partner, Cody. Better choose wisely.

House work sounds easy enough

Cody was grudgingly cleaning himself off with a towel that had been offered to him by Vivian as he considered his options. He was never much of a cook, so going to work in the kitchen was out and his technical ability with computers was negligible. Working outside with the groundskeeper didn't sound half bad but wasn't exactly his cup of tea either. Staying here with Ms. Mitchell was definitely out. That left the glamorous task of house work ahead of him. If nothing else it at least meant that he would be inside and, even if the house was rather large, it would be him and two others so work shouldn't be *that* intensive.

"I think..." he said aloud after coming to his conclusion. "I think i'll go with the housekeeping."

A curious smile appeared over Vivian's lips as she considered his answer. "Housekeeping, eh? You're sure you aren't just tempted by the prospect of working together with a cute pair of twins?"

Cody opened his mouth to give a word of protest but was hushed by a casual gesture from Ms. Mitchell. She pulled one of the sheets of paper from her stack of prospective tasks for him and began to fill in some of the blank information. This was enough time to allow Cody to redress himself, although the lingering sensation of stickyness hung invisibly in his mind. He wouldn't feel properly clean until he'd have a chance to shower. He was just pulling his shirt back over his head when Ms. Mitchell slid the paperwork over to him.

"There we are. This will let April and May know that you've been assigned to help them. They'll be sure to fill you in on the day to day duties. Sign here at the bottom please." A coy little smile reappeared as Cody took the paperwork from her and applied his signature at her command. "You'll need to stop by again sometime after you've become familiar with your job. I look forward to seeing how look in your uniform."

After a small puzzled look Cody took his form and made his way to the door. There was a room number scribbled at the top of the page, instructions for where he was to meet his new partners, as well as a few notes for them regarding his arrival, mostly saying that he was to be treated like any other guest in the house and that he was expected to do no more and no less than they had to. He pocketed the paperwork while leaving the office. Time to get this over with.

House keeping, huh? Well, if that's what Cody chose. And what's all this about a uniform?
